I worked on one of those last year. It wouldn't go anywhere. Turned out that the gearing on the side of the blower had gotten water in it and froze. I took the cover off and greased everything. You might have done a video on that. I knew right away what that was as I had it happen to my own years ago. Funny how we learn somethings using our own equipment. lol. Free lesson. Don’y boy , again u have save me hundred dollars if I had to take my new Troy built snowblower back. My reverse gear would go forward and I figured I’d have to take it back to ( big box ) store. thank you for this video it looks so easy i called cub cadet and they told me to refer to owners manual not as clear and detailed as your video.. mine will not reverse in R1 but will reverse in R2 and the forward gears are working properly. I guess I would not have to move it all the way to the end of the slot like in this video if only R1 doesnt work?

Well after many repairs and cheap fixes (done by watching your videos) to my 1980s Craftsman snowblower finally gave out today. The motor is seized. Thought about following your recent motor swap clip, but decided I'm in the market for a new one. Dony do you have any suggestions as to what's affordable reliable and what marketing gimmicks to avoid?

I check every blower I service for that setting to be off. I find that many blowers are much too fast in first gear so people tend to burn up belts because they can't regulate how much the blower takes in, and it takes top much. I adjust 1st gear to be as slow as possible. Top gear is still extremely fast for travel and reverse is as fast as possible making the machine more efficient.

I'm going to try it. I have a Craftsman 24 inch blower that goes forward in 2nd gear reverse. It does reverse in 1st gear.

I notice you have your air compressor in an optimal place... You can drill a hole through to the outside and access it with the door closed, unless you already have.

My cub cadet 945 is doing the opposite. Gears 1,2 and sometimes 3 goes in reverse. I'm stuck snow blowing in 4th at times feathering the drive handle. What would be the cause of this?

Greetings, I just purchased a new Craftsman 26" snowblower and found that neither reverse gears would go backwards. I did your adjustment, and was able to get R2 to work properly, however, R1 is still going forward, Do I need to move the cable to the lowest hole? I am unsure what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2004 craftsman 9.0 hp tecumseh snowblower that was given to me it's in like new condition no rust the paint not worn off it was never use much and I can't get it to work right it starts great but its surging backfiring at full throttle but won't idle so I clean 2 carburetor replace 3 coils change the spark plug nothing so I bought a new carburetor nothing I have another engine that I picked up at a scrap yeard with no gas tank coil carburetor just the bear engine so I took everything off the engine and put on to this engine change the oil and it ran great, I'm wondering if the compression it has 60 psi or the governor is the blame

I had to do that to mine. I also had to adjust the bracket with the pulley/shiv. It's still not 100%. I guess the next step would be to replace the cables that are stretched out. How often have you had to do that? I've also got a slight scraping noise when I engage the auger. Nothing is binding around the auger so I think it might be the auger bearing. What are your thoughts?

the augers might be slightly bent and hitting auger housing, that is most common issue i get with the symptoms you mention

I have the second version you showed with the cable and the tightener. Which does not seem to work. No matter how i turn it the wire will not release the tension which i need to do!? Please help!

My cub cadet 3x, 26 inch was and still is the worst purchase I ever made. It is difficult to use, tires just spin most times. I had a MTD 26 inch that was great, I thought the 3x cub cadet was a step up, Boy was I wrong!!!!! The reverse is weak, no balls!! Set up and purchased HICKORY INTERNATIONAL INC. Any ideas how to improve this pos let me know. Love this channel

I have a mastercraft that does the “reverse” (pardon the pun) sometimes if you shift in gear 1 it goes in reverse... I have to shake the shifter to get it to click into the right gear

I have a husqvarna hydrostatic drive snowblower that is 1 week old. When I place the snowblower in reverse it takes almost 1 minute to have the wheels turn 1 revolution. Is this a cable adjustment issue. The owner manual is silent.

Adjustment did not work. After some intense head scratching, I am convinced my snow blower had a power transplant and the engine spins in reverse. Any help would be appreciated. Great video BTW.

I just bought a cub cadet with out realizing it didn’t cone with fuel shut off, is it possible to install one? Over a grand and don’t hzve fuel shut off, unreal!

Dony boy can you please help me I have a Hobart champion 145 generator/welder unfortunately the owner ran it without oil so there's no repairing the engine but I have a 6.75 hp engine will it work if I swap the engine that broke it's a 11hp briggs and stratton and the one I want to try on it it's a 6.75 briggs and stratton they look a like

So a similar problem. When in forward gear, machine only slowly moves forward (or not at all) seems like the rubber pully is slipping on the drive pully. Any ideas?

@@donyboy73 k, I checked it was fine. Problem is it seems to slip from very little contact on the discs to normal.....back and forth...drives along fine then stops, drives , stops etc...until about 1 minute into operation....then everything is fine.

girlfriend has a TORO that had an engine replaced. girlfriends father insists that the new engine "turns over in the opposite direction. Forward on the shifter makes the blower go backwards. 6 gears of reverse! Reverse makes the blower go forward, only 2 or three gears of forward. lolol Is this possible, to have engines with crank shafts that run the opposite direction? Or is this an adjustment issue?
