Thank you for taking the time to make this video! I was able to fix my son's controller in less than 15 minutes....which is saying something because I know nothing about that kind of stuff. You explained it quickly and to the point while also giving clear step by step directions, thank you!

Beautiful lighting and camera placement. I damaged my thumb sticks by putting some foam rubber around them to see if it would make my aiming more accurate. I went to Target and picked up a new one for $60. I was watching your video and realized that taking the controller apart was not the nightmare I remembered it being. I took it apart and just played with it awhile. While re-assembling it I inadvertently hit the "power" button and turned on my PS4 console. I played Last of Us Remastered for a couple of minutes and saw that the problem that I had created earlier was now gone! Thank you for filming yourself and thank you for your calm spirit.

I think might be the same issue but need to rotate clockwise. Just to be sure the best option is to open the controller and confirm.

Guys, you do not have to take apart your controller. You can just twist the joystick and then if you hear some clicks, try to move it around and if it feels back to normal, then it is good but still much respect to the creator of this video.

That seems to be a bit different issue, maybe some WD-40 contact cleaner will help, but needs to be the contact cleaner don't use the normal one.

Fun fact: I Didnt need to disassemble the controller, i simply just twisted on the joysteck and it worked

Do you have windows? In case you have just go to control panel, it should be there if you choose "small icons" on the top right of the screen on "view by:"

The best is to open the controller if you didn't it yet. Then it will be easier to see what is the issue, maybe is just a bit twisted.

Do you mean the shaft in which the joystick cover fits? If yes you can try to force it in again by pressing it, i think it should have some plastic holdings in each side of the base of that shaft, But they can break, if they did break probably it wont hold in place and you might need to replace the all thing. Hope it helps!

Could be that the stick fully twisted on one side, but actually I never encounter that issue, so not sure. It the only thing I can think of. I noticed that when you have the controller without the cover it will stuck to any side you push, the cover helps to have it centre and doesn't stuck to a side.

You can but just with the DW40 wont go into place, still need to twist a bit.

What screwdriver do u need i have used 6-7 or even 8 and none work

I did use the size PH0 with only one zero or PH00 (two zeros, I tried both and it works. I think the bigger the number more thick it will be, I tried PH1, PH2 and bigger but those are too big already, I suggest to stick to PH0 or PH00. The tools I wrote in the description have all those PH sizes.

I think it will be with luck 50/50, because if you twist to the wrong side you can break, thats why I suggest to open, this way would should be able to see to which side to turn.

If you mean the cap of the joystick, it was in the socket, you can see it at 4:35 when i turn the board the cap stays in the socket.

You might try to twist to the right or left. The potential problem here is you might twist more to the wrong side and make it worse, that is why I suggest to open.

When you press in the stick does it work that button (pressing)? This might be an issue within the joystick stick. I am planning to do a video on that ' taking apart the joystick case', but to take this apart it needs to be unsolder I believe. When I do this video I will have in mind your issue and if will be possible to solve.

@@oldniustuff I have the same issue. Controller was found with the joystick almost knocked out of the hole the joystick goes in. Tried to force it back and now it's stuck to one side and only moves if I twist the stick. I can still press it down a bit. I think it is out of alignment. I'm going to buy a new one and then mess with this one. I do not want to break my only controller lol. (It doesnt function for games, but I can still watch youtube/netflix using the ps4 controller because you do not need the joysticks).
