Love your figure of 8 joins, really neat. Have you ever given the Gallagher spiralfast joiners, I used them on all my river crossover points and anywhere else that I thought I may have to periodically go through the fence for washouts etc. they’re a bit on the pricey side but I like them because you can just put the strainers on and then unwind them and reapply again when finished. One of my neighbours gave me shit about them so I strained up until I broke the wire, the spiralfast held firm. Love your program, content etc

We've got one of them exact same staple guns, works bloody good almost makes me want to build more batten fences as much as I hate using them, nice to look at but dairy cows just wreck them

I know what you mean. We don't build any new baton fences just used it for maintenance. The deer, sheep and beef cows do a fair bit of damage to our fences.

If it an area that is flood prone it might pay to have areas like that sacrificial. Strainer assemblies either side so only have to replace short runs?

Mate ID like to know a little bit about the history of the farm I noticed you are draining your paddocks I noticed a lot of clay at the bottom I'm just wondering if it would be worth turning over the paddocks With an excavator for greater drainage I'm not too sure if it would be beneficial it was just a thought

I will do a history vid some time. The clay goes down quite deep. And it's quite expensive. We did this on the West Coast and it was about 10kper ha, that was 10 years ago.

It's where we split out the ewes for lambing by putting a certain number of ewes in each paddock, this depends on what size the paddock is and how much grass is currently available to the sheep.

the idea of you guys fencing off your water ways is silly and unproporsional to the fresh water issues
