I was told years ago that I had disc degradation on my L4 and L5. Years of debilitating back pain. Even went to back surgeon who thankfully just sent me for PT. Then I switched to Keto then Carnivore and I haven’t had back pain in 22 months. None. Totally gone.

I have degenerated and herniated L4-L5 disc for 11 years now (no surgery, I chose to manage it), which restricts some physical activities and causes frequent pains and spasms that sometimes last for multiple days. Since I started keto & fasting 5 months ago, I have much less frequent pains/spasms and they go away on the same day. Noticeable difference so far for me.

I am pretty sure my Lumbar pain, like you, comes from overexertion in my youth and middle age. I started about 2 months ago with a regiment of stretching and taking 40,000 IU's of D-3 and 800 mgs of magnesium. I have been able to reduce the pain but every once in awhile I get a sharp pain if I twist my lower back too quickly. Talk about going down on a knee !! I am still working on removing all the sugar from my diet. That's the tough part.😉😉 Love your videos. I have been a subscriber for some months now and am addicted . Look forward to your videos. I’ve had more epidural injections than I can count, had back issues for years, had one doctor the first time I saw him want to do back surgery and I said NO not unless It’s the last resort, and on pain meds for years very addicting only makes the situation worse because you’re masking your pain and doing things that if you weren’t covering the pain with the pills you couldn’t do what you were doing so you injure yourself more! Hope that makes sense. Dr Berg I thank you for being so sweet and honest to give information so freely. You truly care about people. I no longer take opioids. Praise God!!!!

I've worked many physical labor jobs. Including working for a moving company. I was very fortunate to never get hurt, except twice I had lower back pain for a few weeks from lifting an awkward/heavy table, and from lifting insanely heavy gym equipment....But my lower back hurt a good amount. Was bothering me a lot of the day, for a few weeks. And you know what I did that fixed it? I took off my shirt when I was exercising in the sun. And it completely went away that day. Both times. The sun is really a magical energy source if you use it correctly.....But, for anybody out there with some slight lower back pain, I would highly highly recommend exercising in the sun/heat with your shirt off. Exercising and sweating, so your body is absorbing the sun's energy(vitamin D). Do not let your skin burn in the sun. That's not healthy

Being a taxi driver for over 20 years I developed weight gain and terrible back pain. Many years ago I developed psiatica and numbing in mynleft leg whenever I sat down in the car for over 10 minutes. For many years I have been sitting on a plastic role covered with rubber spikes which I rap in a towel. I also have a small pillow that I fold and put it on my back to create curvature. Funny thing a few years ago I worked in a kitchen for 5 months and I lost weight and was standing all day and all the back pain disappeared. My back pain now is still there but is manigable as long as i sit on the the spike roll, which I keep adjusting throughout my shift. I can't believe you squatted 200 kilos. You were a real beast. Most pro athletes can't even do that, let alone you in High School 2) Have you ever looked into Dr. John Sarno's work? His book "Healing Back Pain" literally saved my life. I agree that inflammation is the cause of most of the pain, but he explains WHY you are getting the inflammation, and although diet might have something to do with it, it's a lot more than that, mainly unconscious stress and anger. Anyways I was just curious if you knew of him and what your thoughts are. Thanks for the videos

YES! Unconscious stress, anger, anxiety, fear, Irritability can all lead to too much cortisol buildup in the body and disrupt the absorption of nutrients. Also, long term chronic stress, anger, anxiety, fear, Irritability can lead to hormone imbalance leading to all sorts of health issues. Diet, exercise, supplements and getting the sun is only part of the solution. I recently discovered that the mind over body concept is equally important to the healing process, if not the MOST important. Have to keep a 100% calm mind, free of all the stress, anger, anxiety, fear, Irritability and a 100% relaxed body for healing to take place in the body. To keep a fully calm mind and relaxed body, i do Deep and Slow breathing. I also tell myself to take things easy by doing things slooowly..... no rushing. BTW, thanks for recommending Dr John Sarno, i will have to checkup on him for more mind over body techniques!

Thanks Doctor for your valuable input. May I also suggest hot pack of Carom seeds and granulated salt. This is very famous in India for a hot pack. You heat equal parts of carom seeds and grainy sea salt or rock salt in a pan and when you feel it’s started to release a white smoke you stop heating it. Put the mixture in a cloth (I use a micro fibre cloth) and tie it up in a ball which should be big enough as a tennis ball. You now place the hot cloth pack on your spine slowly where the issue is. Mine was in L4-L5 as per the MRI. The heat of the pack will sting brutally in the affected area and other areas it will feel just normal hot. The sting means the hot pack is healing the issue. I couldn’t sit for more than 1 minute and within a week I’m feeling much better. This includes taking all suggestions by doctor Eric berg as well as back exercises twice a day.

I’ve had back pain for 7 years because of a car accident, and in the last 2 years since I started eating better I’ve noticed my back pain less and less. I’ve also noticed that during periods where I eat a lot of sugar and junk food (Xmas), my back gets worse. Now I know!

I've been a cop for 11 years wearing a 30 pound utility belt every day (my dept refuses to look at weight bearing vests). About 2 years ago I started having lots of back pain, turns out i have a bluge and annular fissure in my L4-L5. I've done everything you can think of short of surgery and nothing works. Started IF this week and cutting out most sugar and carbs (not all, I'm weak). Also adding Vitamin D and Omega 3. We'll see if this helps.

I had a similar experience in the past and in order to recover from my injury I had to strengthen my back, something that you can easily do by following special workout.Losing also the belly fat that I had helped me as well and if you have a good diet then you won't probably have this problem again.

I have neck disc issues. Magnesium stopped the headaches that struck in the middle of the night. I think benfotiamine has helped (in addition to reversing neuropathy.) Also, the higher percentage of the time I'm fasted, the lower my inflammation.

My chiro told me to stay away from junk food/fast food. Probably one of the strangest prescriptions since I'm used to doctors prescribing rest/medications. But lo and behold, the pain went away as I avoided fastfood. Works really well

Dr. Berg, I recently started drinking distilled water and I notice a lot less inflammation in my body. Is this because chlorine is in regular/spring water? I was drinking Crystal Geyser spring water (about a gallon per day) before switching to the distilled water, and it seems the biochemistry in my body has completely changed on distilled water. I now can sleep better and I feel better all over.
