You shouldn't even have to do this. Backwards shoulders. Paint rub. The belt should be on the diaper to avoid rub and hiding.

Nice fix. Not great at fixing stuff so glad I saw your video before I opened my figure. I will be extra careful and rarely change his poses. Also thanks for the shoulder tip. Luckily mine popped off like a head joint so it was a quick swap.

The problem is why they didn't just mold red and blue plastics together instead of putting the red on a blue area knowing it has the potential rub also i notice mine the ball joint on crotch area where the legs are connected are also red plastics and painted with blue? I really don't get it why they just didn't use the plastic same on knees which is closer to the color of the blue paint. Appearance and articulation might be the best out there but why they didn't resolve the past issues? Feeling sad of this because of the playability... SHF still superior in terms of qc. Just use the blue plastic on knee and topcoat it with flat clear is much better than painting blue on red.

Nice job on fixing him! Mine has the same issue plus more rubbing under the shoulder where the attaches. gonna end up sanding it down and doing a mcfarlane style custom.

alright, so for any future buyers of this figure, it seems that a more hot and humid environment can affect paint rub on most matte paint, and with my room being cold, this would explains why both of my mafex 185’s had no paint rub at all. there may be paint chipping though, but this may or may not be the case. since my room is always cold, my figures never had any paint problems even after posing. was your environment any hot when you experienced paint rub?

I usually repaint it, and instead of Mayte coating it, first I add a layer of superglue, to act as plastic on top of the paint, then I Matte coat it so it doesn’t gloss

Mine didn’t happen but I am aware of the paint chipping so I what I did to avoid paint chipping is take off the waist part. With the dipper part I sand down all around with 400 to 600 to 800 and 1000 and lastly polish it to make it smooth when moving the piece plus I use Matt top coating in the blue paint to make it more durable and resistible when moving it and after that I wait for a day and presto 😅
