Yeah im always doing comedy bent bits of wire and hanger jobs on things when you get into sticky situations like that haha. I work alot with machinery and wierd things happen that you can't figure out how the hell it even happens in the first place plenty of head scratching and usually the simplest idea is the right one (like your bent hanger) but you never think of it straight away haha. Eg. A special reverse thread bolt falls down in engine bay. Would take days to find another you cant just use another bolt because thread and its hardened or something and wedged in the most ridiculous place where any angle you cant get to it. Usually on those kind of days there's pointers in the morning of the day you are going to have like hitting all the traffic lights on your way to work when your late. You know its gonna be a bad day. Haha a quick job takes 2hrs and grazed and cut hand.

Why not cut the loop attached to hood that latch latches too? It is replaceable and bolted right? Or is it welded?

At the end you end up putting the inspection camera in the trunk. Not so smart is it :D What would you use to unlock it if you end up shuttin it again :D I see the ad for a camera like this every other week on FB. I guess it's true when they say it's a must have tool :)

I believe Tesla is looking at patenting that hand tool & selling them as specialist equipment to enable one to access trunk should cable break at around $250 US plus tax but only to registered Tesla owners.
