Ya it did but I would apply more of I could go back it just has some looseness on the edges around the vents.

They definitely could have been a little stiffer but they were still flat.

Lonestar Speed oh okay, my dash is crack.. but I think I’ll replace the whole thing with a junkyard one. Well that is not cracked, I was also thing of reinforcing it with fiberglass. Idk that came to mind the other day. That SEM paint came out super clean

Ya the paint is that way to go for sure. I couldn't find a good condition grey dash under 3K anywhere around me.

The item is over 5ft long idk how long your arms are but you are correct on items it is possible to do that. It came out just fine!

I would expect even the minimum expansion foams like for windows would still push something out of place. If it did push you could never get them apart.

I agree foam isn't a good long term serviceable option! Foam doesn't make sense to me. The way I did it works for my situation and still holding strong years later.

It came with it. It was a clear silicone if I remember right.

It's called SEM paint I show the color code in the video I can't remember it off the top of my head anymore. I got it at my local automotive paint supply

If you fix it reinforcing it on the back with fiberglass or fresh plastic. I use zip ties to melt plastic across the back. I have not tried but seen making little bow ties out of wire and melting them in across the cracks like they stitch a skin cut. Looks like Frankenstein but should reinforce the hell out of it.

I just bought some plastic dip in a spray can to spray over the 12 o’clock spot on my steering wheel where I’ve worn through the layer of plastic. I bought the clear since they didn’t have a color that would match my gray steering wheel

Salvage yards in my area pulls & sells a dash of your picking for $100 pulled.

I took my dashboard off 2 hours ago .what he has is a dash cover. It covers your preexisting dashboard. You actually have done the hardest part.

I was Painting the aftermarket dashskin not the OEM dash.

You can't find one for under $1,500 not with the passenger airbag or that isn't cracked. This cost me less than $350 and it's not as difficult as a dash swap.

@@LonestarGarage That's not a Bad Price, but there is a "U-Pull It" Salvage yard here in Central Florida that has about Twenty of these Trucks with probably IO of them having nice Dashes. You can pull it yourself and they will sell it to you for 5O bucks. I bought an entire Grey Leather Interior out of an 'O5 Silverado, Seats, Carpet, Floor Mats. All in perfect condition and modified it to fit my Ninety Five Z-Seventy One. Pulled it myself and payed IOO Dollars for all of it. At a regular Salvage yard the seats alone are 5OO each. You just have to know where to go.

@@LonestarGarage I thought I could just replace the top part of my dash. But I guess the whole damn thing has to be taken out is that OEM top part replaceable ? Or is a skin the only option

It is part of the dash aka a pain to remove!

I bought the prep and 2 cans of SEM paint off amazon but I went to my local paint and body supply shop and talked to them and looked at samples and bought one can there, I overpaid for it but I wanted to buy it just for there help on picking the right color. The brand name is Dashskin, there is another brand that makes one that is similar it is Coverlay. I hope this helped you!

You can't find a dash in Houston. And if you do it's $1200+ and probably already cracking too. But if you can go for it!

Its doing great! No fading or pealing.

To each there own mine is working just fine still to this day. It sounds like your situation was a lot different.
