My first set up failed when the weight of the water crushed the weak blocks I had used. I am redoing it now with proper blocks. All told will be 1200 gallons of non potable water for the garden.

Lookin good Joe! Keep the grass and weeds down all summer back there, and you'll be able to spot trouble before it gets bad. My suggestion is a slab back there to the proper slope for support.

+@denniscote686 It will only be used during gardening season. Don’t really want to spend any money on it lol

Hi Joe, you need to poison the area behind the totes, to save the weeds

+@lukedawg357SIG This is only temporary. It’s up off the ground, and will stay covered while it’s out there. Thanks for the comment!

Hate to be a wet blanket. But if you spent as much time learning basic soil mechanics for the tote supports, as you do manicuring your yard ....all would be good. Water is IMPORTANT....golf course lawn out in the country...is useless. IMHO

+@TheBigfoot567 I appreciate that you think my lawn looks like a golf course. I don’t really consider a couple of hours every two weeks mowing the grass as ‘manicuring’ the lawn. It helps with rodents, ticks and fleas. I suppose I could just cover the whole area with the gravel and junk everywhere like other “homesteads” on KZfaq. I do have a functional knowledge of soil mechanics. As I mentioned in the video, I forgot to factor in the weight. It is not potable water, and is not needed for survival, it is only for the garden, so I won’t have to tax my well to water the garden. They will only have water in them during the growing season. I have a rain catchment system for the cabin the functions well.
