I agree with most of the comments. This podcast is pretty solid for in-depth stats, but they too often make assessments without watching any tape. Granted, I definitely don't blame them for not watching any Panther football, but if you're going to assess Bryce's rookie year, you gotta watch the tape..

As a Panthers fan, the answer to the "why not trade Burns" thing people are asking is that you need a partner before you apply the tag for tag and trade because they have to be willing to give him a contract when he walks in the door, and there's no reason with so little cap space and so much need for this team for anyone to look at this and not dare the Panthers to tag Burns and commit to cratering thier start to free agency. The time to deal with the Burns situation was last year, either before the season or getting a trade done when it was clear the team was bad. Letting Burns make it to the offseason without a contract and without getting something for him shot all this in the foot without some really sketchy restructures and cuts.

So I'm at the halfway point in this video and obviously I've read the comments and initially I thought they were completely wrong, but at the actual halfway point it's pretty clear that they did not watch the games. Mean this specifically by the lack of specifics they use. There are no specific instances of any games that they talk about other than those two games where everyone said he played well. I definitely don't mind. With that being said, whenever you all talk about other quarterbacks, it's very clear that you have pulled individual parts of that game to talk about. I watched a lot of these games and they were all bad. Even the wins were bad. With that being said, Bryce Young was not terrible all season. And anyone can tell you that especially NFL veterans will say that as well. I have really gotten on to Sam and his negativity in the past. With that being said, it is very warranted now. You all are supposed to be professionals and not long ago were asking us to vote you for an award. Your podcast is based off of statistics and analysis of every football player and every play. You all are taking shortcuts and it's beginning to show the further you go.

Trade Burns to either the Lions or the Ravens and get our first rounder back. Second the only problem I have with Bryce is he’s too short, he can’t throw deep down the field, and his decision is horrendous. Third we don’t have a backup quarterback besides him and Andy Dalton so they need too address that as well. An offensive tackle along with a #1 wideout and a powerback would fix this team.

Looking back Dalton should of been the starter and Bryce sit and learn. Dalton can run an offense and the Panthers have a good defense. They had no picks they should of been trying to make the playoffs.

Spent 60 percent of the time bashing Bryce, less time actually fixing the Panthers. Forget Evans or Ridley. Sign Hollywood. The team needs someone that specializes in speed based routes/ produces in long speed. Ridley would certainly help but he functions in a lot of the same spots that Theilen does. Trade Burns to DET or BALT for 1 and 3. I saw something about Balt doing this and tossing in Ojabo too. With the first that you’d gotten from this trade, you take Troy Franklin, Ad Mitchell, or even Ladd (similar to Ridley but Theilen won’t be there forever). At 33, you take Haynes or Barton or whatever tackle falls. First pick of round 3, you hope Jatavion is there. If not, you look opposite JC and take a Hart, Brownlee, Melton. Later round three, you dart throw at ANOTHER wr, maybe Thrash or Ainias falls. I’ll leave 4-7 as obligatory BPA picks. You extend Moton and convert whatever you can. Open up more space. Have an open, honest discussion about where Ikem is gonna play. Was is the scheme that messed him up? Look how IND reverted back to a half decent line once Reich was gone. Bring in Laken for relatively cheap, maybe Onwenu if you’re feeling spendy. You resign Luvu, that’s not negotiable. You extend Derrick Brown. You see if you can afford Bryce Huff from NYJ. Offense will now look- Qb- Bryce Rb- Chuba, 4th round rb Te- JaTavion, Tremble, Hurst* Wr- Hollywood, AD Mitchell, Theilen, Mingo, Thrash OL- Ikem, Laken, Boze, Haynes, Moton The defense will have less pieces and resources, for now, but that offense will be immensely upgraded and Bryce will grow with a good core of WR.

Yes, Dalton had a better box score his one game, but he also had 58 pass attempts... his yards per completion was not the highest the panthers had last year, but his attempts was more than any game BY had by 10. The green bay game was the best game of the season per attempt and almost overall yardage.

This is an awful take on Bryce Young…. Anybody who actually WATCHED the games can tell you that he did a phenomenal job extending plays, making off-platform throws that were accurate, and throwing with anticipation because he knew where the ball should go and where the receiver should be. He did miss some wide open throws, but that was just about the worst of his play. The receivers and o-line are to blame for most of his lack of production because he literally could not survive in the pocket, and when he did the receivers either weren’t open or dropped the ball.

Arent these guys PFF guys? Are they not aware of the advanced numbers on Bryce? Im not talking surface level stuff like total yards, tds, ints and wins/losses. Im talking about stuff like accuracy at 10, 15, 20+ yards. Completions under pressure vs clean pocket. How long he holds the ball when not being sacked vs being sacked. Stuff like that. The numbers arent good at all. When you look at total yards and TDs its easy to blame the team. When you dig deeper you realize.....it doesnt matter how good or bad the rest of the offense is. Bryce causes everyone to play worse than they have with other/better QBs. Thats a huge problem because 1) it doesnt fit the pre draft narrative that hes a creator and makes players better. 2) How do you build a team around a guy whos so physically limited. Mingo isnt a slot WR. Hes a mid field to deep threat guy. Bryce being inaccurate over 15 air yards is not a wr problem. Thats a QB problem. Teams constantly stacking the box which by default eliminates your run game isnt an OL problem. Thats a QB problem. When defenses blitz their safeties....that means they dont have any respect for the QB. Eagles had #1 OL and still gave up 39 sacks. Thats less than 62 but one can argue Bryce brought half those sacks on himself holding the ball after missing tight windows that were never gonna open again.

Two things can be true. 1. BY looked awful. I mean really bad. People can pull 100 excuses out of their bag but all #1 QBs also have those excuses. 2. It doesn't mean he will always be awful. Goff is the only prime example of a QB playing that bad and turning it around to average. The issue is due to the trade package, BY needs to elevate to elite status. I don't think his ceiling is that anymore. He just looks like he can't physically hang as an elite level guy. I think best case scenario is he elevates to that bridge QB status. Something like Goff before their SB winning move for Stafford or Smith being the bridge to Mahomes.
