Once again, thank you Chris for the videos. Not sure why a supermarket worker enjoys learning the finer points of constructing dams or how to tighten up dozer tracks….. but I do. So satisfying watching you work.

Two things I found interesting, 1) getting out of the cab to give us an idea of the size of the stumps you are pulling, I believe you showed the size of the stump ripper at about 6’, and it looks like it was just about fully buried in the ground on the bigger stumps, 2) I liked the cam shots from the stick as you were digging stumps, not mention the tearing sounds of the roots popping loosing. Thanks for the update, good to see the 6 back at it.
@brockshields93369 ай бұрын
I agree on the root popping and crunching. It's amazing how effective that two pronged hook digs down with such ease to extricate those monster root balls.

It’s incredible how much easier it is in the 330 to pluck the stumps out than it is in the 220

Even though its a stumping powerhouse..it looks like a thumb would be a great asset to have on the 330. I love watching and listening to the D6 in action.

I’d expect we’ll be seeing one before too long. Chris is likely getting frustrated trying to balance those stumps on a pickle fork! But I’m sure a thumb isn’t cheap!

@6:27 that really does give us a much better idea of the scale and size of the new excavator. Before you did that I was looking at the overall width of the Hyundai, and thinking about transporting it. Jeff Anderson jokes about knocking over his neighbor's trash cans when moving his heavy equipment, and the Hyundai must be every bit as wide as Jeff's scrapers and his big CAT excavator.

You can get a sleeve that slides over the hoses to reflect heat and they also have the added bonus of containing a hole in the hose and directing it away from the turbo. Many a dozer was burned down because of a turbo and oil combination but lucky your dozer is older, made of steel instead of plastic and had limited wiring
@michaelmullins12909 ай бұрын
I'm glad the dozer is back pushing. The bigger machine is moving right along. I know the property is gonna look nice. Thanks for all the different angles.

If that little mishap had happened on a newer D6, it would have a bad situation. Luckily, you got one of the good "OLD" ones. And a few of those stumps have proven you right on buying a bigger excavator. You could have done it with the 220, but it would have taken a lot more time and caused way more soil disturbance. Great video, thanks for sharing!
@deeinmontana79229 ай бұрын
Really liked the "front view" of the claw digging out the stumps like at the 11min. time frame. It gives so much more detail of exactly what's going on and your maneuvers. I can't seem to get enough of watching your skills. God bless.

The camera and the sound of evey stump you were digging could hear all the ripping of the stumps, amazing, and how BIG a lot of those stumps were..that property is littered in stumps. Great that you were able to get the D6 back to running, this time with no more fires!Love that stumper, really make easy work of getting all those out! Great video Chris. Appreicate your hard work in the videos and on the job and sharing.
@zerocontent31719 ай бұрын
It almost seems like a single ripper would work better for ripping the roots out but that double ripper is sure nice for getting a lot of the dirt off the stumps and moving them outa the way.

There's something awful satisfying watching you dig exactly around an old root ball and then snagging it right out of the ground. You got a good eye seeing what I don't see until you've hook right in the middle. Course it's a pretty good clue when we hear the snapping and crunching of roots on either side. The ground certainly seems lousy with them.

That stumping bucket combined with the Hyundai is T Rex of stampers. It yanks those stumps like they're puppies mostly. Even the AL Bundy big uns aren't that big a problem compared to a normal toothed bucket on the 220. Lot's easier on Chris. The price of those 4 hoses sure makes ya appreciate how much it costs Chris to keep his business going. Good thing he has KZfaq income to help offset his maintenance costs.

It was interesting seeing Andrew Camarata interact with Matt, Mike and Chris at the equipment expo. The lad really does lack personality. While Chris was finding lots to laugh about and was continually firing out one liners, Andrew barely cracked a smile. As the years have gone by, long time viewers of both (all channels) can had zero doubt as to who has the most skill and on-the-job expertise. I used to love Andrew's channel years ago, but nowadays his slip shod approach and downright dangerous work practices are leaving me cold regards his channel, and I don't want to be involved with the inevitable serious accident that is going happen to Andrew, one of his friends, or dogs. Some years ago, someone asked in the comments 'Who would you rather spend time with?' And I answered 'Chris, no question'. I mentioned the interaction and banter between Chris and Jason - who we saw more of back then. I mentioned how Chris says 'Timber!' when he fells a tree, and that Andrew always seemed rather sad. That goes doubly now. I wouldn't want to hang out with Andrew, but would love to spend a day with Chris.
