Has the rear wiper dropped on your Audi A3 / S3 8P? In this video I fix mine buy replacing the wiper motor which then turns into a rear wiper arm too.

I actually replaced mine today. Been sittning there for 15 years so i thought i was in for a real challenge. Took less then 15 seconds to get it off. What i came to understand is that you need to wiggle it. If you pull straight out you're in trouble, wiggle it and it will come loose with ease. And about that rubber thingy with an arrow. My arrow points att 10/11 or something. And has been so since factory

Thanks for a nice video explanation. My partner has an A3 where the rear wiper has stopped working - no doubt water ingress. Today, I soon realised disassembly was futile due to corrosion despite using an expensive release agent. I've decide to just hacksaw the old one off and replace with all new components (motor, wiper arm, grommet, nut) as per your experience. Hopefully, the new parts won't take too long to arrive, fingers crossed. Update: Job fully completed today after 3 different types of release oil, a few weeks of soaking each time, a heavy duty puller and heating/cooling with a blowtorch. New parts include: Valeo motor, wiper arm and wiper, grommet, M8 (13mm OD) collared nut. I thought better of trying to reverb the old motor. Don't need too many jobs like this. 🙂

Nice one Danny. Really annoying having to wait for car parts but unfortunately we cannot plan for every eventuality. I think any car modder/weekend mechanic has had the same issue - I know I have. Glad you got it all sorted though and whilst it was rubbish having to wait for the parts and they were not the cheapest the sense of satisfaction of knowing it's done and with quality, genuine parts makes it all worth it.

Nice work Danny,the price of the wiper and parts were not cheap lol,but at least you know it won't leak in the boot,keep it all original and it's better in the long run.

I wonder if the wiper arm insert (the bit the pulled out of your old arm) starts detacing from the main arm. That would cause the arm to droop. Great job and I'm glad you didn't do the easy delete option.

Its a strange one as when the wiper drops the play is like a couple of inches up and down. It's not as if the arm is free to spin all the way up or down which it why I thought it could be the splines or play in the motor. 🤔

Thank you so much for this video and for the part numbers on the description! 😃 I have an Audi A3 8P and I have a problem in the rear wiper engine, which I think was caused by water that has entered inside. I was looking for some cap or rubber to avoid that, but I only found out because of your part number for the Grommet. I didn't know what to call it either 😂 thanks!!

Great video Danny. As you know got my wiper to do soon. Will need to do filter to. Did you take fuel pump fuse out to relieve pressure on system before you did it?, cheers mate.

Wiper makes me smile every time I see it now mate ha. That fresh deep black plastic on the new bits. To be honest mate I didn't take the fuse out. The pressure wasn't too bad and your always going to have fuel pissing everywhere I just stuck some safety glasses on and ventilated the unit by opening the main shutter door. 😎😎😎

@@projectfearn nice one mate. Got these jbs to do soon were the three nuts releasing the motor a pig to get out? Access wise?, did my cam flower recently and diverter valve. Got a pierburg valve and febi bilstein follower. Pcv is only couple years old so left that.

Nice video Danny, well done in getting the wiper sorted. Can I ask whether the fuel filter on these is a service item? The reason I say this, is my wife has a 2006 TT (2.0 TFSI) and her fuel filter never been changed, & when I looked at the handbook it only states a change interval for the TDI engines. Also how do you feel about gearbox oil being changed, when Audi is meant to be sealed for life I believe they say?

The fuel filter is not a service item which I find bizarre pal. When I went to Audi to order it they said they change very few. If its a non serviceable item I don't understand why they actually sell them haha. As for the gearbox oil this is something I'm currently looking into as I would prefer to do it but will let you know pal. 👍

@@projectfearn cheers Danny, I suppose they have to sell the filters maybe in case of damage to the canister or split? They are saying that the filter itself inside doesn't seem to require replacing with the unleaded fuel, but diesel it does. Something in the diesel that can block or deteriorate the filter maybe.
