I never shut the hood on start up after repairs. Fuel leaks and fires can be nasty….been there.

Funny thing. I got the p0302 code so I went and purchase a set of spark plugs, disconnected the battery and realize I had the wrong socket to remove the spark plug. So I returned the cable to the spark plug and reconnected the battery. Now there's no engine check light, no codes and my OBD2 shows no codes also. Any reason why??

so did it fix the problem? I have swapped out the coil packs and after replacing the battery, the first start no code or engine light, however, after the second startup the engine light comes on and the code pops back up on #1 and #2.

Any chance he was getting a p0306 code mine is saying I have a cylinder 6 misfire and I’ve already changed out the spark plugs and coil packs and every time I clear the code it comes back just wondering if this is what I need to do to mine

Hi I have a 2007 Liberty 3.7L V6, 117,000 miles. Owned it since 67,000 miles. It operated perfectly for the first 30,000 miles and then it started getting a #1 Cyl misfire code P0301. It also seldomly gets a #1 cyl fuel injector circuit open P0201. It must be a very mild fault as the misfire freeze frame data shows it always happens at less than 350 rpm and when cleared it comes back immediately at next startup, cold or hot. So it seems to only happen once on startup as its moving up to regular idle speed. The miss isnt noticeable when driving or idling. Its getting 15.5 mpg fuel mileage. Doesnt burn oil. Doesnt smoke. Has great power. I've changed plugs and coils but no difference. Cleaned air intake, air filter, and ran cleaner through system. I've cleaned and inspected the injector plug and all wires but no difference. Dry / wet compression test of #1, 3 and 5 cylinders all read good: 160 / 175 psi. I'm wondering if there's a mild wire defect for that injector, or just a flakey connection somewhere. Has anyone tried to use a new set of compatible gauge wires and run them to a place closer to the injector control? I can't see where the wires go though. I'm not sure if I should just live with this, or troubleshoot it more. I don’t care about the engine light as we don't have emission requirements. Now that I know the compression is good, I'm not so worried about it. Any suggestions of what to do next? Thanks!

I have a 2011 wrangler jku. Sounds like exhaust is misfiring.. Sometimes it takes 5+ key turns before it decides to fire up.. No check engine light.. You think it might be sparkplug problem?

I had same code but plugs,coil pack and injector did NOT fix it. Any other ideas other than replacing the head?

I did a Magnussen supercharger on my 13 JK MW3 edition. At 40,000 I started having #6 misfire codes on thr Diablo code reader that I got with my SC kit. It's a random "check engine" and it runs fine normally even when the idiot light is on. It does struggle at times like bad gas. Knowing the '13 had head issued, I've always been worried that it's not a faulty coil pac (why work intermittently and not just fail %100?). I've got 60k on it now and it's to the point where I won't drive it anywhere like out of state for fear I'm doing more damage. The jeep dealer won't deal with it since my aftermarket supercharger, so I'm stuck DIY. It's such a hassle and winter in PA now, so thus will be my first spring time repair. New plugs and new could packs. A trick to diagnose is to swap coil paks 6 and 4 (or whatever is easiest access) and see if the misfire follows the coil pak. (In this case, the p code would be xx04 vs xx06?). I'm hoping it's just the coil part and I don't need to swap out the whole head chunk. In '13 (early to mid yr builds) the exhaust port was milled to closely to the cyl wall, and eventually fails/communicates with the cyl. It was a long requested recall, but my supercharger nixed that option.

The number 8 cyclinder on my truck took like 2 hours it was 2 hours and 7 minutes for the spart plugs

Lol I bet it came back on right after the video I ended up replacing the plugs coil packs and injectors and relized it was gas cap lol but it runs great

Next time just take off the passenger fender and you will have an easy job replacing the spark plugs! took me 1 hour to replace all 6 plugs.
