Thanks a lot bro!! Gonna tackle this on my sister's Taurus tomorrow. Thanks for helping everyday people like myself take care of ourselves!! I'm not a mechanic either, but I have a short video on my channel showing the connections on the upper intake manifold of my 1996 Ford Explorer V8 5.0 Hopefully it can help someone out as well. Once again, Thank You!!!

I'm glad I was able to help encourage you to take care of you n ya family too. thats dope kid. random tip... an easy way to know if your fuel pump crapped the bed... is to open the FUEL DOOR and take the cap off the fuel filler neck and put your ear as close to the filler neck opening and have someone turn the key/ignition to the ON position. If you dont hear a hummmm.. means your fuel pump isnt priming your fuel lines. Check under hood fuses for fuel pump fuel fuse should be a giant 20 amp

thanks for the tip man. I havent had to do it again, but im on my fifth taurus since this video. ever happens again ill take your advice. doing that job in 3 hours would be SICK.. Like my productivity could be worth $200/hr when you figure shop rates. theres something silly about the folks who get trapped when something like a radiator blows on em. working 60 hours/flipping 60 dimes or whatever ppl gatta do, to pay dude in a shop... when they could listen to strangers on youtube, n get it done

So by ripping the entire front end off you were able to avoid taking the radiator out of the bottom of the car?

I would've messed up the trans line, thanks for this video man.

@prisionbreak07: No problem. Did you stop the leak? If not, maybe use some teflon tape (the kind used in plumbing connections) for the threads on the bolt.
@eze-fpv8488 жыл бұрын
hey buddy I put my foot in my mouth I was just doing one and I had to pry that piece off like you did and I have every quick connect tool there is so there it is

If fuse isnt blown... and you dont hear the hummm from the fuel pump priming.. your pump is BAD. That might be real shttie if it happens on the freeway, but its DOPE to have a reason to drop your fuel tank. THE REAL TIP.. is if you ever have to drop your fuel tank, you can splice into the wires and rig up a KILL SWITCH. you can hide it where ever you want. i like basic on n off type sht. alarm will prob keep your windows from being bashed out.. but kill switch is better than low jack...

I got a New radiator 80$ from 1800radiator.

I just pulled mine out, after I got those clips out. The cut lines were from the junk yard. My top line had plenty of room and came right out. Maybe you'll need to take the whole nut/connection off the tranie cooler line. thats a bitch to get it back together. remember to use that plumbing tape on the connection going back on, or im pretty sure it will leak

No doubt man. How'd you make out? Yah, I'd never call myself a mechanic.. self sufficient maybe. Like I said up there ^^^^.. Ill open the manual and READ the steps. If Its just nuts and bolts... no big deal... save some dough. i wouldnt mess with an engine til i was able to put one on a stand.. im not distroyin no ones engine or. trannie.. but suspension, hoses, lines, motors, connections, cooling system... i leave electrical to a pro too.. no need to start fires in my dash board.

Just a heads up taking the whole front end off is not necessary Ford put in access ports for you to remove this radiator without all the extra work. Besides that great videos.
@BlueEyesInnocent9 жыл бұрын
Can you tell me where the access ports are to remove the radiator? I have to pull my radiator out here shortly and would like to do as little messing around with the front end as possible and I can't seem to find a way besides taking the whole nose off. Thanks.
@XxSilverTunaxX9 жыл бұрын
Look into the little holes near the headlights there you will find the bolts to remove the brakcet holding the raditor in on the top. It will come out the best taking it out the bottom of the car.

no que no explicas como sacarle la parte delantera , el radiador poner el radiador es facil quitar todo el frente y los tornillos si que estas 5 hrs. por lo menos ok.
@eze-fpv8488 жыл бұрын
the 2 trans lines are presure fitting lines they have a cheap tool for that
@boston2298 жыл бұрын
You're right. There is a cheap tool. And removal is quick and easier than a screw driver. This was a long while ago and I've learned a lot since this video. Thanks for the additional help.
@boston2298 жыл бұрын
I hear Ya. As I'm getting through more and more cars.. if I have the $ I try for new fittings altogether. Unless it's no wear at all. I've learned more in 3 years up here in NH than I did in 30 yrs else where. There's tons and tons to do on cars. Can stay busy for a long time. Proper tools and a lift makes for long fun days.

How that radiator work out for you.. In the beginning of my video I said I didnt make it for instructional purposes. I dont know what I'm doing half the time I work on my cars or truck bro. I've learned alot, but all i ever do is open the haynes manual and read the steps if it sounds like I can do it.. even if 25 steps I'll do it... if there's 3 steps and one includes something only a pro should be messing with.. i find immediate help.. i aint no superman. i hope you didnt cut your trans lines
@boston22910 жыл бұрын
theyll be pushing that car before they figure out why it wont start haha
@laceypoole68248 жыл бұрын
Hmm u know the radiator actually comes out from the bottom
@boston2298 жыл бұрын
I was inexperienced. That's OK . How high do you think the front end would need to be for the radiator to have clearance? I haven't had a bad Taurus radiator since this.
@laceypoole68248 жыл бұрын
boston229 wouldn't have to be very high at all we just used a regular floor jack and jacked it up as high as it would go if I had to guess maybe around 2 ft
@boston2298 жыл бұрын
I'll keep that in mind. If I had access to a lift... that would be ideal. And as soon as I am able to get one of my own. I surely would enjoy it. A lot.
@laceypoole68248 жыл бұрын
boston229 yeah I hear ya lol it was a pain in the ass but it worked
@boston2298 жыл бұрын
I'm sure it did. I do sht all the time to make it work. That's part of the fun. Figuring out a work around or a mod
