You could call this Fjordhawk an Ultimate Phoo because it will always recover your items when you die, and you can transfer a lot of resources to your base if you die or travel by using beds.

That lake with the dock you were looking at is an incredible place to setup a base. I incorporated that dock into my base, which is on pillars over the lake. The area reminds me of a smaller "Hidden Lake" from The Island. Other than the piranha in the lake, nothing much dangerous spawns there. You just have to watch for the occasional nasty falling off the cliffs from above. Better yet, it is much easier to get to. You can easily get there on foot from the second spawn point (the one with the "shipwreck" and the barrels, crates, and lumber piles you can harvest on the beach). Just go a short distance from that spawn point west along the beach to the river that the waterfall is a part of. Head inland up the slope on the east side of the river, and you come out on the cliff on the dock side of the lake. You can easily make the journey as a freshly spawned in character. The only thing dangerous on the trip up are Therizinosaurs near the spawn point, which you can avoid. And as long as no nasty neighbors have dropped down from above to welcome you to the neighborhood, you can easily get established, even on a fairly fresh, new character. That area is resource rich. The cliff forming the waterfall below the lake has two great benefits. The one on the dock side of the lake has five rich metal nodes you could probably see from the dock if there were not trees in the way. The cliff on the other side is a loot drop. So you have, metal and a personal loot drop just yards from that dock. There are plenty of trees and rocks to harvest on the dock side of the lake, and the rock you spotted the dock from has a bunch of crystal nodes right there. Just beyond the crystal nodes is an arch. Just beyond that arch is a massive amount of rich metal. Just beyond the cliffs above the waterfall there are obsidian and those new honey nodes (btw, an anky rules at harvesting honey from those). On top of all that, both Argies and Snow Owls spawn in that same area above the cliff. Can't ask for more for a base.

In addition to the radiation cave being a rock drake nest, the Andrewsarchus' saddle protects you from the radiation. You can wear cloth armor and steal rock drake eggs

Apparently the higher health the ovis has, the more taming effectiveness it'll give your fjordhawk. Something about how many bites it takes the hawk to harvest it.

IF only the Dinopithicus didn't stagger so bad when it gets hit, it may have actually been a contender against a Thylacolio. But Thyla is still the only mount that can pretty much do it all.

I've actually lost all my stuff twice because my fjordhawk died right after me. They were stupid situations, but it picked up my stuff, then died right after. And there was no sign of the bag anywhere. So at this point I find it too risky until they do something about that situation.

Fjordhawks can also go underwater on your shoulder and still bring you your stuff if you die. Make sure to level its oxygen!

You need a fully grown ovis with stats in health it will only take 1 ovis to tame any fjord hawk at any level on vanilla settings as long as ovis has enough health

Some tips for the hawk phlinger health is best to lvl weight dose not matter but if something kills u and u dont spawn on a bed quick enough and your bird dies u will probably lose your stuff

a sanguine elixir could help with the hawk taming

You have right idea but ovis needs to be adult and put all points in health doesn't have to be healed just lots of health then kill it near hawk you want to tame should only need 1 ovis

I hope you look at this Phlinger, I know this is a late comment but can you test to see if you can bed hop in vanilla with a FjordHawk? Part of how the mod "death recovery mod" works (the one with the gravestones) is that the bag that you drop is considered a "death bag" when you drop items when jumping with beds. I'm not sure if that is just part of the mod or if the FjordHawk would grab it and bring it with you in the base game play.

Hey man, been a subscriber for a while but don't comment often. With the fjordhawks it's health that counts, the bigger the health of the thing their eating, the more % taming you'll get. Big lvl ovis are apparently best. If you can somehow max lvl an ovis, you'll be laughing! Hope this helps! 😁😁👍👍

A bred Ovis + tons of levels in HP = Fjordhawk kibble

Easiest way to tame a fjord hawk breed a bunch of Ovis line them up near said hawk and slaughter them one by one.

They will also bring back an UNLIMITED amount of Metal right now. I doubt they intended for it to not have a weight limit but currently it will bring back a bag of metal that weighs 11,500 pounds. Just need to drop a sleeping bag after you pickup all the metal that was on your anky or magmasaur. It's silly actually.

The hawk is the second most frustrating tame in the game, only beaten by the Amargasaurus. Both are extremely annoying to tame, they take way too many creatures to tame.

Have heard that u can lvl up health in ovis and it tames fjordhawk better.

you just need 1 high health ovis and pump all levels into health then when it's lvls are maxed out you can slaughter it and the fjordhawk will tame right up really fast when it eats the slaughtered ovis.

Don’t get a fing stupid hawk in this game I died with it and after I died it died so hey I thought it dropped a bag with my stuff in it but no my stuff is in limbo or something so I lost everything so F these stupid buggy birds.
