This weekend you join us back in the workshop with an FK2 Honda Civic Type R which has already been kitted out with a host of upgrades, making the next step a turbo upgrade. The owner of this FK2 has opted for an MHI Turbocharger Upgrade, followed up by tuning from Romain from Racecal.

New subscriber here can't wait for more videos just purchased a blue fk2 do u need any modifications to go for stage 1 i.e clutch, ive seen u on officially gassed with jamies integra keep up the good work

Congratulations on the purchase of your FK2, you'll never look back 😎 We tend not to work in stages, however a 'Stage 1' equivalent can be achieved by remapping a stock car, or better still, mapping alongside an exhaust system and an intercooler 💪 If you have any questions or want to get stuck into upgrades, drop us an email and our team will happily help you out!

can only the turbo be changed like this? without changing the connecting rods and pistons?

Yes - when tuning after fitting we didn't push the torque much higher. This turbo makes power easier and relieves strain - we would recommend upgrading engine components if you'd like to go for much more horsepower/torque.

Personally think Honda ruined the Type Rs by adding turbos an NA engine will always be more fun to drive but there we go.

The N/A engines are incredibly fun to drive and have a lot of spirit however Honda had no choice but to go turbo due to the competition! Thanks for watching and commenting 🙌

Hmm? So much money for to lees hp. 310 stock, stage 1 only software 360 -380hp Now full bolt on. Eventuri + charge pipe Intercooler (wagner) Exhaust (remus) Miltek downpipe with 200hjs cat with software optimization you get already 410hp - 430hp Now you get an upgrade turbo and you hope mayber near 470hp, upgrade injection upgrade fuel pump and you should land very near 500hp. Everything else means you got scamed... Iam talking about in Germany tuning.

You have a point bad the think is that you always have in mind to stay reliable if you want to blow your engine just turn the boost on .. Reliable is more important especially on stock block..
