The Flåm Railway (Flåmsbanen), The Gudvangen Viking Village Njardarheimr , Fjord Cruise from Flåm to Gudvangen and Viking Food at Ægir BrewPub are some of the activities we review in this tourist guide for å short visit to the beautiful village of Flåm in Norway. The video includes where to find and how to do the activities, including prices. It also includes a short review of Fretheim Hotel, where we stayed during our visit.

Be sure to do it before the end of 2025. After that no cruise ships are allowed in the fjord unless they're zero emmisions.

Lovely! I enjoy visiting the area when we are in Norway. my mother in law was born and raised in Flåm. We have a cabin in Flåm. I think I have done everything except the Viking village. I remember when the first establishment of the village was closer to the water and not fenced off. I’m glad you showed that. That will be a must see this summer. Undredal is my mother in law’s favorite stopover to buy the cheese to bring back to Oslo. Inspired by your video. I love your wife. She was faking the bow and arrow. She’s actually an expert, but she doesn’t want to scare you. 😅

Thanks! Itineraries all depends on a lot of things so difficult to set one specific, but we did Geiranger, Loen and Flåm all in about 9 days with a car.

Thanks, I think the Flåmsbanen train ride is a must. Then maybe a rib-safari on the fjord. The fjord cruise from Flåm to Gudvangen is probably not so important since you already came on a cruise ship, but the Viking Village at Gudvangen is interesting if you can get a ride there. Have a nice trip!

Thanks, you can get the Flåmsbane train from Myrdal station down to Flåm.

Hi, Can i ask who you booked your train tickets with? We are on a cruise in may and the official website is fully bookeed, but there are a few other sites. This is something we really want to do as were only in flam for 1 day.

Hi Abigail, we booked them through the website so I am afraid I cannot help you there. No cruise boats when we were there so not any problems getting tickets. But now, when everything is back to normal, I guess it might be more difficult getting tickets. Good luck and have a nice trip! 😊

Hi, our trip was in the beginning of August, so same weather and so on as in July. But expect more tourists in the coming seasons as last summer was still a bit affected by the pandemic.

I found your video while searching about videos in flam. Would you advice to take cash with you to buy souvenirs in the vikingtown or can you use a debit/credit card ?

Hi, should be no need to bring cash if you have a debit/credit card. Basically every little shop in Norway accepts cards.

Hi, I have a question about Flåm gudvangen boat, should I need buy online or just straight go to tourist center to buy the ticket? Also we will self drive so how could I get back to Flåm to get our vehicle?

When we were there there were basically no foreign tourists so no problems buying tickets at the tourist center. But now, as everything is opened up and foreigners and cruise ships are coming back, I think it might be a good idea to book in advance on-line. About getting back to Flåm, just buy the ticket including bus ride back to Flåm, and the bus will be waiting in Gudvangen when the boat arrives.

You could also book a return ticket with the boat :)
