There should be a jingle for "white stands for peace" in flags, like the "blood of those who fought for freedom" for red. It's not as flashy but still pretty recurrent.

Not all flags with white parts have it stands for peace. It could also stand for purity or spiritual means or sky (at least in Austronesian culture(?)) or maybe significant culture/ethnic groups While red, almost very generally, stands for... you've guess it

Actually you didn't have to put both bandana and the black hat (peci/kopiah eh whatever you prefer) on the same time. You wear them separately on different situation, the black one is more like formal hat, while the bandana is a casual traditional accessory.

Cpt. Exxon The songkok or peci or kopiah is a cap widely worn in Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, the southern Philippines and southern Thailand, mostly among Muslim males. It is likely associated with the Malay culture. Wikipedia Songkok, Peci, Kopiah, call it whatever you like.

BurN368 Cool Here in Indonesia the term is pretty much interchangeable between the hard black hat and the soft light colored one. Actually the word Songkok itself rarely used in Indonesia compared to Peci or Kopiah. Hence why I didn't use the word Songkok on the first comment.

BurN368 well, some Indonesians (especially Javanese) call the black hat songkok or kopiah or peci interchangeably. Songkok only used when speaking in Bahasa Indonesia. Kopiah or peci is applicable when speaking in both Bahasa Indonesia and Basa Jawa. In addition, some call it kupluk, too, only when speaking in Basa Jawa.

The majority of people in Lesotho and the Free State speak sesotho. The language is also spoken in the eastern cape, Kwazulu Natal, Mpumalanga, North west , northern cape and Gauteng provinces of South Africa. Historically FS and are inseparable.

Unfortunately you used the wrong picture for the Lesotho loti again. The picture actually showed the South African rand, however you will mostly be able to use the rand in Lesotho as well. ‘Geography Now!’ is my favourite channel, thank you for the great videos!

That black hat is usually called songkok. songkok is Indonesian national hat commonly used in official events such as state ceremonies, weddings, also used by Muslims during prayers, and we do not use bandana's under that songkok.

'Knopkierie' means 'knobbed walking stick' (knop = Afrikaans for knob , kierie = Khoi for walking stick). And an 'Assegai' ( the 'g' is pronounced like the Afrikaans 'g' which you can imitate by sort of 'gargling' the sound), is a Zulu shortened spear used for stabbing like a lance.

The bandana and the black hat (pecih) its a diferent things, you can use the pecih for formal event, and the bandana it is called batik (indonesian)

Lençóis maranhenses! It is very beautiful and I'm so ashamed I never went there, considering I was born in a neighbor state. I did visit Maranhão state as kid, but only the capital São Luis, that has unique French traits (they built it, but the Portuguese didn't let them to keep it, but apparently liked the name and let it stay). Anyway I love to see my country in the spotlight and love your job, please never stop it! Invent new countries, if you need to!

From a Finnish perspective, it’s a blessing or a shame (however you wanna look at it) that ”pula” doesn’t mean ”prosperity”, because in Finnish ”pula” means ”shortage” or ”lack” or ”dearth”, like ”pula-aika” means ”depression” or ”emergency period”; so, quite the opposite of prosperity 😆.

Hi Barbs. Las Casas de Acuzar is a heritage resort. It's full of restored spanish era houses and it's in my province of Bataan.This is good since there have been a lot of heritage buildings that have been destroyed or abandoned which is an issue

I'm from Indonesia. Thanks for wearing the "Songkok" (the black square hat) and the "Batik"-bandana till the end of the video. 😁😀 but, it is not usual for us to wear it both in one time lol 😅. But it is okay. FYI, the songkok has the other name, "peci". And the surname of it is "peci nasional". For me it is okay if you hold malaysian flag while wearing songkok, because we are sharing the same culture, Malay. And that Batik bandana, there are many kind of batik bandana to fold, up to the ethnic style u want to made. 😅

As you may have noticed, Lesotho is entirely surrounded by South Africa so the prominent black leaders from Lesotho seeked refuge in Lesotho. Some even went to the National University of Lesotho the most popular being Tito Mboweni. All this was made possible by the fact that it is an independent sovereign state. FUNFACT: Ke Mosotho.

I just wanted to point out the thing in Czechia is very famous, there is a legend that the author was blinded because people didnt want anyone else to have it
