Squatch - Three years ago I purchased the same 94h model as you. However, it was defective, and I ended up having to completely remove the hydraulic shift. The Y blades are on their last legs, and having read the note here from jeffshaefer, will probably replace them with the hammer knives. Check out the video titled "woodmaxx flail fail?" I am convinced, having watched your video that Woodmaxx knowingly unloaded a defective mower on me. Such is life I suppose.

I really like the setup, 96” flail with the powerstar. I am about ready to purchase a powerstar 90 and have a similar environment. Would you change anything with the flail or do you run into your tractor being to large?

Would like to see some "HONEST" context like how you installed the flail mower on the New Holland? If this was a skid steer, would you need a high-flow system?

It is PTO driven, so not meant for a skid steer, the hydraulics are only for the side shift option, hope this helps...

Hey just to update you on my switch to hammer knives from y blades, hammers all the way. Ease of sharpening huge difference, sharpened without removal and the finish is just as good and stays sharper longer.

I have read that you can’t switch between blades. If you buy y blades it isn’t made to put the hammers on. I’m a bit confused now that you mentioned you switched.

@@Ohio-PPG-Trike-Adventures I've never heard that about changing knives. Where they mount is extremely strong. Woodmaxx makes it clear you can use either ones. So I would imagine other manufacture are the same. Whichever make you are looking at I would inquire with them on use of both knives.

@@jeffschaefer4579 I called Woodmaxx after I read this on their page. IMPORTANT: Flail mowers purchased with Y-blades are not interchangeable with hammer blades, and vice versa. The salesman told me each cylinder was balanced for a particular blade. I wonder if he was confused and should have said you can’t mix blades which , I understand.

@@Ohio-PPG-Trike-Adventures Well that is confusing. When I purchased mine from them they said the cylinder is balanced and the all the blades are to spec as far as weight. I was cautioned that when I sharpen them to weight them each afterwards and make sure you didn't grind the heck out of some more than others. I know some are worse from hitting rock and stuff, but they dont need to be sharpened like a lawn mower blade. I really question that salesman, no offense, you have done you due diligence calling them. If you see the mounts on the spinning drum/cylinder there is no way that's correct. Best of luck, I love mine.

That's unfortunate, and something nobody wants to hear... Hopefully they will get their ducks in a row and solve this.

@@steelmastiff3322 finally after 3 months I got my bearings in to replace the ones that went bad.. unfortunately I can no longer get access to the area I needed to clear ( seasonal changes make the ground to soft to drive a tractor into).. now I have to wait till next July to get back into that area.. all good atleast I have time to do the repairs.. they didn’t replace the burnt belt just bearings and seals.. count blessings 😂😂😂
