Before learning about Kibbe, I'd buy simple clothes (like thin knit, fitted moderate sweater). I thought such clothes would suit everyone, and I thought I was fat and ugly and that was why it didn't look right in me at all. Thank you for teaching us Aly ❤

One thing about being a FN, especially a mid size FN is the actual fabric of materials. For example if i wear anything that is slightly thick like most sweaters are, i end up looking SO incredibly top heavy to the point that it is comical, like an upside down triangle. Any type of thickness or weight to tops makes me like gigantic!

I suppose I'm FN, being 180cm tall and definitely broader in the chest and shoulders. That being said, I look terrible in oversize anything, much bigger than I am, too much fabric is definitely a no. So, I'm still confused, but I don't really have another type to choose...

Maybe...forget about this kibbe system. The things with systems, is that if they don’t work for you they aren’t for you. So many systems even contradicted other systems, but that doesn’t mean one is wrong, it means there different approach for different people. For example, for cleaning and decluttering, you have systems that say organize by space, and Mary Kondo that says organize by category...one try one thing, if it isn’t helping, maybe find another approach?

@@ritaamor283Well, my system is to look in the mirror and find out if I like what I see or not. 😊 Also, after decades of living and getting dressed I know more or less what suits me and what doesn't, so I guess I'll just stick to this. 😅

There’s a chance you’re not flamboyant natural, but if you happen to be then you should explore FN more and not just dismiss it without giving it a try. Both sd and fn look best in t silhouettes.

❤Same. 178 cm quite athletic broad shouldersand pelvis. Cannot wear all styles recommended (I.e, heavy sweaters make up me look like a wall. Have to learn to pick the right recommendations for me. Kibbe system really helped me understand my go to s!

Ugh! I wore this outfit the other day that I hated and I couldn’t figure out why. Now I know. It was a fitted knit turtleneck with a mini skirt with a small pattern. Lesson learned

Aly thank you so much for going to the trouble of doing this. I really appreciate the links you leave, I actually bought from them recently. It's great to see options that are available in my country Australia. The info is so helpful! It is absolutely wild for me, I've been doing the complete opposite of this for years. I've always thought the smaller and tighter the pieces the smaller I'll look. I use to wear a heap of cropped cardigans and they always looked off. Im very new to oversized or relaxed fits. But very excited to explore as a Flamboyant Natural!

Thank you, this is very helpful. Do you offer body typing consultations, as I'm torn between whether I'm FN, natural or flamboyant gamine. I'm 5'6", and have a broad back and shoulders, but very slim.

I had the same conundrum when I was younger and slimmer. I'm 172cm and used to weigh 58kilos (I'm now 66 kilos) and im definitely a FN. Anyway, I believe the difference between the FG and FN is that the yang from the FG will be sharp, whereas the yang from the FN is broad and blunt. So the FG might have broad shoulders but they would be sharp and have pronounced edges. But the FN would have broad shoulders which look more blunt and muscular. The face for the FG may have sharper features ( maybe small pointy or slim nose, slim lips etc) whereas the FN would have a broad nose and fuller lips or broader mouth. If you're still on the fence try on a jacket which is something like the classic Balmain blazer in your size. If you look ridiculous- like a body builder trying on a child's jacket, then you're a natural 😂

And here I am again...as a FN, who just does not like this particular style *at all* 😅☠️😎 I keep watching these videos, hoping it will 'click' for me and I will suddenly see the appeal...but it's just too sloppy and casual looking for my taste. Although I think, it's less of an issue in winter anyways. I mean, I could never dress as a romantic, that wouldn't suit me at all. But who even notices the difference between natural and dramatic, for example? Both are tall(ish) and elongated and you can't exactly see bluntness or sharpness of the bone structure under layers of clothing. Maybe in the face, but even that gets a bit blurry, if you're not super thin. Anyone else, who just doesn't feel comfortable with their own type, even though they clearly fit the description?

I'm hesitating too, and studying the concept of kitchener essence. For example, you can be a flamboyant natural but have dramatic or romantic essence you need to aligne with in order to be more harmonious. Could help you to check it out 😊

Hi! A (probably) FN here~ about the "non differences" between D and N in winter, I specially notice it with fitting cut and/or lightweight fabrics. Even if the garments are my size, they look small like constricting my body (and making me look bulkier in the process). Chunky sweaters, on the other hand, make me feel way more flattered (and gives an illusion of curves to my rectangle body!), while a dramatic could be lost on all that bluntness and extra fabric.

I have the exact same problem than you. I am some kind of natural, but i dont like the typical recommandations for naturals (coats are the only exception)… essences are indeed interesting to look into, even though it’s then the same than with kibbe bodytype : an endless loop into figuring what mix of essences we are haha

@@RunOffTheRoad Well, flamboyant natural has an dramatic undercurrent (or overlay?), so it's not surprising, that that is what I gravitate towards as an alternative. The whole essence thing is something, I can see in some of the examples, typically given. But unlike the body type per se, it's not something, I can 'see' on myself.

@@ZurditaDinamita Yeah, I get the 'looking bulky' irrespective of weight or fit in the wrong type of garment as well. Anything cropped I avoid like the pest and figure skimming works better for me, then very tight or clingy. But loose and bulky...I just don't like. I'm more into 'edgy chic'. For example, I might wear a loose, longish knit sweater (not much choice in winter, haha), but with leather pants and boots, preferably with some heel. If I wore it with 'casual' pants like jeans and sporty shoes, I would just look boring and nondescript. And if I paired the same pants with a tight top, it would look 'too much' on me. It's a constant balancing act.

I cant for the life of me figure out my body type. I am somewhere between a flamboyant natural, a soft dramatic. But I dont fit in any of the kibbe types, not even close😢. I even took a lot of online tests... Isnt there a site where you can submit your body and have someone help?

How can FN look more feminine? These style feel very masculine, which suit my FN body but don’t exactly suit my face (I am more “cute” looking, I have very large eyes and narrow jaw/I look kind of alien-like or maybe like a mouse or cat). Is there a way to balance these big oversized styles with more feminine silhouette/details so that they don’t juxtapose my face so much? Also, It’s hard to create a feminine look with colors because I am a warm autumn which also doesn’t have very feminine colors in the pallet that will still suit my deeper skin color.

I have a short neck, should I cut my hair to a chin length bob, so that you can actually see my neck or should it be longer so that I can create the illusion of a longer neck by having my hair over my chest and wearing tops that show some cleavage?

I don't know if it's helpful, but when I have longer hair lying on my shoulders, I feel I look much heavier and broader in the shoulders and neck area. I look much better when I have chin length wavy and voluminous bob, then my shoulders look slimmer and the neck looks longer. 😀

My bone structure seems to fit best with FN I am tall, broad but I have big boobs and definitely carry more weight. These oversized styles don't work for me I find they make me look braoder. Defintely all the don'ts for FN are also don'ts for me....frilly, delicate styles don't work on me. But FN recommended styles also don't seem to work :(

Me too, I feel like there is lack of body type in this system that must accommodate vertical, width AND curve. For me what works best is loose wide leg panths/palazzo to balance my broad shoulders and big boobs, so I look proportional. But I have to have highlighted waist so on top there must be something either tighter or tucked in. otherwise I look like a lollipop. I thought for a moment I might be a SD but those styles ale too glam for me. I feel like I need more of a 'quite' glam for my figure.
