In this video I talk about the best flame weeder on the market. I also discuss how we use flame weeding in the garden! Follow Me Instagram @Farm.Life.NC TikTok @FarmLifeNC

The Flame engineering model is cheeper and in my humble opinion, made very well. They have been building agricultural flamers for 60 years.

Or you can just use a rake to pull them out??
@FarmLifeUSA2 ай бұрын
You can, but the rake would need to get the roots

When you have a couple of acres to cover, it isn't really an option.

Less the an iPhone but actually has a purpose. 😂

This seems like a horribly dangerous idea for what you’re getting out of it

Why do you say that?

How do you think they do weed control in organic agriculture, when herbicides are no longer an option? Tarping, flame weeding and plastic mulch are their best tools to minimize weeds.

A really dumb, very dangerous and great polluter to boot.

I don't understand how using a propane torch to burn weeds is dangerous. With common sense it is not very dangerous. Even with dry dead vegetation the fire doesn't spread it goes only a foot or so away at the most then burns out and some precautions can be taken to make it even safer like soaking areas that don't want burned with water and having a water hose near by. Also propane has a negligible ozone depletion potential and very low global warming potential and since it's a gas it doesn't contaminate the soil or anything the flame is burning.

Couldn’t have said it better

One of the alternatives is to cover with plastic, but that has its own issues. Smart people often give critiques, followed by solutions. I am not a farmer and have little understanding beyond basic gardening best practices. I do think that a solution better, cheaper, and better for the environment would be embraced without issue.

It's so dangerous, that organic farmers have been doing it since the 70s. 🙄 They use big 3 point flame weeders on tractors that do twenty foot wide swaths fed from a 250 gallon propane tank.
