I re-listen this every few years, and it is never disappointing. George's voice is like a rubber band that becomes more stretched and entwined, but never breaks. There is tension without release. A brilliant yet uncomfortable song. A pop song pickled in a jar. It is a masterpiece !

Brilliant description! For someone who initially shied away from "singing" (as heard on the first two Flash and the Pan albums) he developed into quite a respectable vocalist, at least in the studio.

Das Lied habe ich 1985 zum ersten mal gehört. Die Melodie und einige wenige Worte vom Text haben mich immer begleitet. Ich war immer auf der Suche nach dem Lied. Habe es aber erst im Jahr 2022 gefunden. Das Gefühl ist unbeschreiblich nach so langer Zeit endlich das ganze Lied zu hören.

Das war von 1985 an der "Octopussy-Song" an diesem Karussell wurde es damals erstmalig gespielt und es ist bis heute noch so! Fast 40 Jahre später! Es ist ein Dauerhit sowie Octopussy die beste Spaßmaschine aller Zeiten ist!

Witzig: Der Mix/Edit in diesem Video ist einzigartig. Auf dem Album ist ein komplett anderer Mix, während die Single- und Maxi-Version beide eine zusätzliche Strophe haben ("you do the tours and the interviews, you meet the press and you're in the news"), die hier und in der LP-Version fehlt.
