Back in 2016, Boosie did one of our most-talked about interviews in VladTV history, where he touched on the hatred that comes with rappers staying in their own city after they made it big. In light of XXXTentacion's recent murder, Boosie's words have been circulating around the internet yet again.
Check out what he had to say in full up top.

It’s an unwritten LAW in the Hood Handbook to move out the hood once you make it... You are only obligated to stay true to yourself. As long as you provide for your family and help your friends level up, there’s nothing else you have to do. Always give back to your community, but you don’t have to live there to stay true to where you come from.

His interviews better than most rappers in the game. Most of these dudes barely can talk right. You can tell hes a grown man and not a child. The game letn a bunch of lil boy ass dudes in that dont have no fuckin knowledge or wisdom to drop . i respect Boosie because i go to Virginia and they bump his tapes all around ! Dont hear NO JAY-Z...on the radio maybe..but not bumpin out dem systems

I guess sometimes the artist feel too relaxed that they forget that they are a known artist, thus leading to them lacking. They don't think in the moment that they have people that both love and hate them so sometimes artist don't move very smart and cautiously while out in the public.

You don't have to "make it" to get out. I truly believe the reason my brother is not dead or in prison is because we just left our hometown with basically nothing. You can struggle anywhere and you can hussle anywhere. He was 17 and just got out of juvie 4 days before our older brother was sentenced to 18 years. Our older sister stayed, almost got killed, and then ended up spending 4 years in prison herself on her first bid. My mom didn't want to take another chance because my brother was insanely reckless and had few screws loose, he'd already dodged death twice by the time we left. He didn't shed his super thug ways right away but he didn't have a crew or enemies pulling at him. Now he's super dad and hasn't been in serious trouble since we left. My sister eventually left and hasn't caught a charge in the 7 years since. My older brother is doing his 3rd bid. So many of the people we knew are dead or in prison.
