Mullin looks terrible here, honestly. Allowing words to antagonize him to the point he tries to fight on the Senate Commitee floor, has to be verbally admonished multiple times, and then goes on to try and set up a fight at an event that April? What an absolute child, and while O'Brian shouldn't have antagonized him, Senators are expected to maintain a level of decorum and decency that Mullin tossed right out of the window the moment he felt he had been slighted. His constituents should feel shame by proxy.

Who owns Sen, Mullin? Lobbyists, the oil and gas industry and the health care sector have contributed nearly $1 million to Markwayne Mullin’s U.S. Senate campaign since 2021. Mullin’s campaign had pulled in roughly $3.6 million in contributions by Oct. 19, according to Federal Election Commission filings. Comparatively, Democratic challenger Kendra Horn has raised $1.6 million. As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Mullin sits on the Energy and Commerce Committee, which oversees health care, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency. Mullin is also part of subcommittees on health, the environment and climate change, and communications and technology. Mullin supports making abortion illegal in all circumstances, including cases of rape, incest, or if the mother's life is at risk. During the 2022 Republican runoff debate, he claimed that if his wife's life were at risk during a pregnancy, neither he nor his wife would want to get an abortion. It pays to be in a union. Literally. Workers who are members of labor unions in the United States make 18% more than their nonunion counterparts, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ annual report on union membership, published today. The report shows the median weekly earnings of full-time and salary workers who were union members in 2022 were $1,216, compared with $1,029 for nonunion workers. That’s nearly $10,000 more per year. Unionized workers typically earn more and have better benefits than nonunion workers, but the difference can vary depending on the type of work and other factors. For example, in 2022, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that union members made 18% more than nonunion workers, with women, African American, and Hispanic workers seeing even larger differences.

Unions aren't perfect but don't forget that before they showed up, your kids had to work jobs in dangerous conditions and you didn't get to stop at 40 hours. Unions are necessary. The reason companies pay more than Unions, if that stat is true, is because they fear Union entry to their operation.

UPS feeder driver definitely DO NOT make 35k per year. In fact, UPS just gave their drivers an increase to an average of $40/ hour. Their drivers often get as much as 20 hours overtime standard, which is paid as 1.5X their wage. At that rate, their pay amounts to $2,800 weekly. That dude was definitely wrong about UPS feeder driver pay. Paid bi-weekly for an entire year, that amounts to $145,000.00 per year.

Unions suck they encourage laziness they prevent you from negotiating man to man with the guy you work for they don't give any incentive to work more than the next guy. You are made to wait around for some turd to do something that you could just do yourself that would be in the interest of efficiency. The bottom line is this unions are good for factory workers who can be replaced easily by immigrants but when it comes to skilled labor they are counterproductive as they do not allow for any type of elevation ie if you are better at something than someone else but you have only been there 1 year and they have been there 6 that person gets paid more even though you bring in more money for the company and produce better quality work. More often than not union guys sit around like a cubicle q***re 5 hours out of a 10 hour work day not only that but it creates an us vs them mentality when it should be a team situation of ill make you money so I can make money and vice versa

Regardless the unions need to be held accountable just like anyone else. The shtick they played for decades thinking they can just yell at people and say they're fighting for workers holds no water when they followed the DNC around in lock step for 20 years. Thousands of people have lost their jobs, manufacturing went overseas, all so they could get theirs and the union bosses refused to negotiate in good faith. I talked with an auto-worker member in 2009 who told me before the auto industry went under the workers would have 30 people on shift with only enough work for 15 or less people. Half would go to the bar next door to drink while the other half would work the shift. They all knew that sooner or later the company would go bankrupt but they weren't allowed to fire anyone because they were union members. What happened since then? Cars keep getting more expensive, workers have been either replaced by robots or the jobs have been outsourced out of the country. It wasn't just because of the pay and benefits, it's the regulations that unions pushed through to stifle competition. This is what got Mullin so upset, was they refuse to acknowledge that they played any part in the regulatory state that not only hurts workers, but consolidates power and hurts innovation. The union heads and special interests were able to make their money and keep their power though. What do you call it when union leaders, management, and politicians are all working together? That's clearly not in the interest of workers or tax payers.

Hmmm let’s put on our thinking caps, when did Detroit start to depict…early 90s…hmm what happened then at the same time…ah yes, the BI-PARTISAN NAFTA bill becoming law. The same NAFTA that exported nearly every manufacturing plant and job to Mexico, China, South America…where labor was cheap because the cost of living in such places wasn’t anywhere close to the current day US. It’s ok, not many understand these things.

Unions aren’t always bad but the intimidation of non union workers that are getting what they want without a union needs to stop. In my experience if you’re good at what you do you can get what you want in dealing with small business. Unions have to shed the rep of getting paid big wages and benefits for a mediocre job done.

Here is the problem. All of the manufacturing jobs have been out sourced and off shored. There is really nothing left to work with in terms of possible union members because those jobs that could benefit from a union are gone now. Unions worked great up until the the early 80's. That is when the manufacturing jobs really started to leave. Keep in mind that unions are a business. Their number 1 goal is to make a profit. More members mean more profit. Their negotiating labor is not free plus at times the the retirement plans are worth it. For example, ABF drivers went from $ 28 an hour to $ 31.5 an hour this year. This does not include any retirement details. That stuff is what the due money is paying for. It is very complicated in terms of what a business can afford since everything now is Global. I remember around 1980 my neighbors with overtime were coming home with more than $ 600 a week, bring home after taxes and dues. That was a living wage from the steel mills around East Chicago back then. I understand the whatever it takes to keep members paying dues to keep the union going. Mullin which is a typical fork in tongue politician was given daddies business from daddy. That is not working for it. It was given to him. Mullin will never mention how the government he is part of signed away all the living wage manufacturing jobs under the bullshit excuse of "free trade". Canada free trade 1988. NAFTA, CAFTA and GATT in 1994. GATT was from the UN starting in 1948. Fast forward to modern times. The government gives billions and billions to companies to continue all manufacturing anywhere but in the states. Can you see a bigger picture yet? The government sold out the people a long time ago. I am sitting in a recliner made in New Albany, Mississippi in 1974. We had jobs back then that paid a living wage. I remember! Any questions?

They had top-notch journeymen and had the ability to do the job, but their interest was how much money they could rake in. It would take more time to explain the issues than available now. Its a choice thig so make the choice.

Everyone wants to make money, that’s not a sin. Big employers use their size and reach to drive down wages and benefits, lot of stories lately about flight attendants living out of their cars and qualifying for food stamps. My company has highest labor costs in its industry but still posts healthy profits quarter after quarter. Of course if they could slash our wages and take away our pension and healthcare they would make more profit. That is the fight we have to fight. All for more effective business that makes more profit but don’t make your profit by asking me to do more more more for less less less
