The Crisis suits and Broadsides are where the army thrives but it was the Stormsurge model that had me pick T'au Empire for my first 40k army

As a Tau player, just wanted to answer by saying the whole reason I got them was because Giant Space Robots??? Since their first release they've had some great lore and characters added to them. Love the paint job, and the worn and torn feel to it.

You know, the M'arl'bor'o sept color scheme looks really good. If ou already painted your army as Vior'la, this wouldn't stick out too much

First 40k model i ever bought was a broadside, i coincidentally painted it in farsight enclave colors. Now my army is painted in a sky blue, white and ghost green style that im loving. I refuse to repaint my old broadside closest i do is add rust to her, this old girl has 1 shotted more tanks than it has every right to lol But im into the army because they love range and battlesuits are amazing.

Came for the Giant Robots, stayed for the history lessons... and fish puns. Like shooting fish in a barrel. You've done it again! The weathering and battle damage on this Tau Riptide Battlesuit looks great! I really love the borrowed effect of the clear plastic sections to attach the scanning drones to the riptide. The finished look was incredible! Well done, Mike!

@@flashingbadgerpainting Wasnt expecting you to respond to my comment but it is my pleasure. For me, models should tell a story if you want them to be your best and all the elements have to be right. Having Knights as one of my armies taught me this. The elements you put into that base are stellar. I definitely encourage trying out weathering products instead of just paint but your work with a brush is amazing. Sorry for the long comments. 😆

I just got some tau pathfinders, spent a whole evening trying to get the crevices looking right, realized that the uneven base coat was working against me. I dont what it is, but an uneven white base, especially when it's not the same shade of white that you're actually using, is an ugly, hard to deal with thing. Then i made some mistakes with my application of shade etc, etc. Basically i just need to drop them in an alcohol bath and start over, knowing now what i didnt, but your guide is going to help a lot, thank you for it!

I painted one Riptide years ago when I played Tau. It looked... okay. I sold all my 40k stuff years ago but I did end up finding a baggie with about 5 Firewarriors. I might try these techniques on them just for fun.

Tolle Bemalung, tolle Effekte, schönes Base von der Gestaltung. Der Bau und das nicht entfernen von Gußgrade, fehlendes verschleifen der Teile führen nach der Bemalung zu einem nicht sehr anschaulichen Modell. Für den Hausgebrauch ganz Okay, für eine Zuschaustellung eher ungeeignet. Hätte man mehr Zeit und Mühe investiert, wäre es ein tolles Modell gewesen. Wenn man bedenkt was die Modelle kosten, ist es schade das man nur schnell schnell macht. Schade.
