Great video, great that even non-dental students and others can watch without getting bored. Good job

I live in USA and there are no dental lab technician training programs near me. How may one go about learning to fabricate dentures independently?
@billzjr2224 жыл бұрын
Thank u so much now I'll be able to make my own dentures. It may not have the professional look but at least it'll make a good temporary dentures till I get enough money to go to a real dentist.

Hi I'm looking at purchasing some flasks brass ok if so the inside dimension are 100 by 85 by 45mm (45mm refers to the height is this enough space or will I get caught out with large impressions?)

anyone know how long you can let your flasks with uncured acrylic sit for before the acrylic is ruined?

what happens to the acrylic baseplate? Does it boil off like the wax or does the new acrylic blend with it?
@barry32326 жыл бұрын
Claire D. After boiling out you open flask and discard of the base plate and clean any residual wax before packing

Yes thanks Barry..discovered this ..really like working with the acrylic base better than wax.

I've never seen capping off investments without using a vibrating table. With full dentures, well at least the lab I work at, we split cap full dentures. I'd like to see a tutorial on investing partials. Well at least someone else's point of view on investing partials. Interesting video though. Right on.

7:47 that doesnt look very safe pouring thin foil on theeth, i know it will go down when the cast is standing but, doesnt go off completely from the teeth isnt it? I isolate my casts with a brush but never touch the teeth, i just go around them and it takes some time, im looking for a faster way. Is it safe your way?

most people I've seen pour it on the teeth but right before they put the acrylic in the flask they rub the teeth with a Q-tip soaked in monomer

Does it matter if the compress with the two flasks lay sideways or does it have to stand up ?
@ChristopherStokes-Sheffield2 жыл бұрын
Hi - No - my guess for this being done 'right way up' is often as the presses work by pressing vertically (down onto the bench) to tighten, but after that orientation is not important. It potentially is earlier in the process, such as when the plaster is unset, as it allows some control of air bubbles etc, but by the stage that you have the flask in the clamps for curing it is more about what is easiest to handle.

Dough like stage of acrylic.....what is the difference? Instructions tell you to mix the acrylic, then pour without waiting to thicken.

what's the yellow liquid that you used on the other part of the flask?
@BingoDobber7 жыл бұрын
At around 5:14? That's a thin mix of dental stone.

2:58 and 3:6 so much wastage of plaster. I just use moderate amount of plaster. Filling the flask half with plaster leaving the space for model so I don't have to carve extra plaster.

no vibration to the stone ???!!! how to prevent bubbles ???
@ChristopherStokes-Sheffield8 жыл бұрын
+Samar Tawfeeq Hi - thanks for the comment. Yes, a little vibration (or a few thumps of the flask on the desk) will help. A rub with a finger or a brush is usually sufficient as the critical surfaces are usually smooth and not as prone to getting bubbles trapped (unlike when casting dentate impressions).
