If the earth is round then explain electromagnetism
@Nathangames4
@Nathangames4 3 ай бұрын
Electromagnetism is a branch of physics that deals with the study of electromagnetic forces, which encompass both electric and magnetic phenomena. Here are the key aspects of electromagnetism: 1. **Electricity:** In electromagnetism, electric fields are associated with electric charges. Charges can be positive or negative, and they create electric fields around them. The force between charged particles is described by Coulomb's Law. 2. **Magnetism:** Magnetism is the property of certain materials to attract or repel each other. Magnetic fields are produced by moving electric charges. Magnetic fields exert forces on other moving charges and can induce electric currents. 3. **Electromagnetic Fields:** When an electric current flows through a conductor, it creates a magnetic field around it. This relationship is described by Ampère's Law. Conversely, changing magnetic fields can induce electric currents, as explained by Faraday's Law of electromagnetic induction. 4. **Electromagnetic Waves:** Electromagnetic waves are oscillating electric and magnetic fields that propagate through space. The most well-known electromagnetic waves are light, radio waves, microwaves, and X-rays. The relationship between electric and magnetic fields in these waves is described by Maxwell's equations. 5. **Maxwell's Equations:** James Clerk Maxwell formulated a set of four equations that describe the behavior of electric and magnetic fields. These equations unify and summarize the fundamental principles of electromagnetism. Electromagnetism plays a crucial role in many technological applications, including electric power generation, telecommunications, and the functioning of electronic devices. The study of electromagnetism has been foundational in understanding the physical principles that govern a wide range of phenomena in our everyday world.

planes actually do have to pitch down constantly to maintain their altitude. The only issue is that the earth is so large that minor corrections and effects due to the air turbulence alone are more impactful than the pitch to go around the earth. The earth is almost 25000 miles around, and at 500 mph, that's 50 hours to go around, or 7.2 degrees of pitch per hour. The reason you don't notice it is the same reason you don't notice any other maneuvers with much higher pitch rates, like adjusting altitude.

The reason it looks so flat, is because of how incomprehensibly large the Earth is. The curve is so gradual that it's barely noticeable, even at that height. I think the big reason why a lot of people question things like this is because they get a simplified explanation, misunderstand it, and then prove their misunderstanding wrong. Like when you hear that the Earth is round for the first time, you assume that it's going to be like a very visible curve, but in reality, for that to be the case, the Earth would have to be a LOT smaller.

I can verify one particular point: "The plane should dip a little to follow the curve and I have not felt it." Two things you can take from this: 1. The "dipping" is so subtle because the curve is so large that one would not feel it at all. 2. Having flown a Cessna I did not notice that I was dipping until my instructor pointed me to the instruments. Thought I was holding it steady just by eyeballing the real horizon but the artificial horizon (and dials) told me otherwise.

Why don't yall shut up explain the laws of water cas that debunks a round earth
@Nathangames4
@Nathangames4 3 ай бұрын
The laws of physics and the behavior of water provide evidence against the flat Earth theory. Here are a few key points: 1. **Gravity:** Gravity is a fundamental force that pulls objects toward the center of mass. On a spherical Earth, gravity acts toward the center, causing water to naturally form a curved surface. If the Earth were flat, bodies of water would not exhibit the curvature we observe. 2. **Horizon and Curvature:** As ships sail away from an observer, they gradually disappear from the bottom up due to the curvature of the Earth. This phenomenon is consistent with a spherical Earth. If the Earth were flat, ships would remain visible until they moved beyond the observer's range of sight. 3. **Water's Level Surface:** Water seeks a level surface due to gravity. In a gravitational field, water naturally forms a flat and level surface when at rest. Bodies of water on Earth exhibit this property on a large scale, conforming to the spherical shape of the planet. 4. **Circumnavigation:** The ability to circumnavigate the Earth by traveling in a straight line and returning to the starting point supports a spherical Earth. If the Earth were flat, such a journey would not be possible without constantly changing direction. 5. **Satellite Imagery:** Modern satellite imagery consistently shows a spherical Earth. These images, taken from space, provide a clear view of the Earth's curvature and are consistent with the laws of physics governing a spherical object. These principles, grounded in physics and observable phenomena, are incompatible with a flat Earth model. The overwhelming scientific evidence supports the understanding that the Earth is a roughly spherical object.
@Nathangames4
@Nathangames4 3 ай бұрын
There are no scientifically valid "laws of water" that debunk the round Earth. The laws of physics, including gravity, dictate how water behaves on a spherical Earth. Claims that contradict well-established scientific principles and evidence are not supported by the scientific community. It's crucial to rely on reputable scientific sources and evidence-based explanations to understand the shape of the Earth. The overwhelming scientific consensus, supported by a multitude of observations and experiments, is that the Earth is an oblate spheroid. Misinformation on this topic can be debunked through a careful examination of scientific principles and empirical evidence.

Strange enough the same curvature can be observed at sea level… and if it remains the same dozens of kilometers above, it means that the ground is actually fairly flat! Just remember that our sight forms a circle around us, what is in the center of your vision seems to be further away than what’s to the sides, and that’s because we have some elevation relative to the ground. The sides then appear to be slightly below the center. It is more pronounced the higher the elevation. Anyone can try this with a 3D software like Blender. Add a very big plane, add a camera in the center, then reduce the drawing distance to simulate the atmosphere. Now go into camera view and play with the camera elevation. The higher you go the more curvature you see, however the ground is a flat plane!

Obviously the flat earther is wrong, as was demonstrated in the balloon footage, but showing respect to his point of view and actually listening and considering what he was saying made him more open to reciprocating the same consideration to your argument. One tip to combat the "bait and switch" aspect, let the flat earther add something to the camera rig that they can't be easily removed, like write something in sharpie. That way when you recover it, they can see what they wrote and confirm that it's the same rig for themselves. It would be even better if what they added was a secret that only they know so that they couldn't accuse you of reproducing it on a second rig.

There were no protests. Nobody accused Captain Stevens of fraud. There were no Flatopians then. People celebrated the revolutionary camera, lens, infrared film, the developing process and photographic techniques invented by Captain Stevens to show them what they already knew was true. No, defended by thousands of independent observations of a thousand things that prove Earth is a sphere. Chandrayan is only one of them. And all these thousands of independent, verified observations agree: Earth is a globe. There are no Flatopian observations at all. Flatopians can't predict the time of sunrise tomorrow morning without using the globe. They can't predict the altitude of the Sun from any place on Earth at any given time. None of the thousands of observations that prove the globe are possible on Flatopia. That's the very definition of hilarious.

I work in the satellite industry. I have been installing and activating satellite dishes for years. I have installed active and passive satellite dishes for both the public and private sectors of our economy. The orbits I deal with most are geosynchronous. All geosynchronous orbits are equatorial based and are 22,236 miles above the earth. Dishnetwork had a camera on a geosynchronous satellite located at 119° looking back at the earth for many years. Our planet is definitely a 🌎 globe. The camera has since failed and has not been replaced. The satellite dish I install are all pointed south towards the equator with a 47° inclination. The satellite dishes on the equator are pointed strait up and look like a salad bowl. If the earth was flat and I was bouncing signal off a dome my dish should point almost strait up with a slight inclination to the east because I am 800 miles from the Colorado transmission point. It all makes rational sense. The earth is round!

The EPIC DSCOVR camera has been taking pictures of Earth in space since 2015. It orbits along the L1 point of Earth's orbit around the Sun (it sits approximately 1M miles from our planet, always facing Earth with the Sun at its back). It takes a picture roughly every 2 hours - sometimes less, sometimes more, with adjustments for sidereal day - as Earth rotates. It's fun to click through the months and see how our axial tilt affects the exposure to the sun, like right now (Nov-Jan) Antarctica is in every snapshot and you can't see the North pole at all, but then you get to watch the Hudson Bay ice cap melt and May-July you can't see Antarctica at all. But it's a NASA project so flat earther's just cry "fake" 🙄

The vast majority of satellites we use must be geosynchronous, since it seems like a lot of hassle to have such an interconnecting web of satellites moving across the face of the earth such that at least one is always in range of you. Also it's strange how you lose satellite connection when you go out into the wilderness. Shouldn't the satellites be high enough that they could connect to you anywhere? Are they really geosynchronous orbits, or just balloons sitting mostly still, and not so high? Also what do you mean by located at 119°? Since longitude only goes from +90 to -90. Also also how would dishes NOT point straight up/down, at the equator or not, round earth or not, if you're 800 miles away? Everything about this is fishy

Water is always level. for example, if you start at lake michigan and then traveling south. you can see that the body of lake machigan is 574 feet above sea level. and its LEVEL. There's no change in elevation. There is no curve. A undisturbed body of water is Level. it's not curved. Lake Machigan from north to south is 574 feet above sea level. For example. if you look at what the elevation level looks like for Hudson bay in Canada. it shows an elevation of -2 feet below sea level. and it's level for a distance of over 879 miles and on forward. it's level. There is no curvature. That goes the same for the Atlantic ocean and Pacific Ocean. That means that water is flat. water seeks its own level. Everyone agrees the world is 70 percent water. and water is always level. therefore 70 percent of the world must be flat. using common sense. the surface of our world is flat.

Good try! An easier and much cheaper and less time consuming experiment with a lot more convincing result: Take a normal system camera and take a photo of the sun in the middle of the sky with settings on enough reduced light intake so that the round shape of the sun can be clearly seen. Do the same, with the exact same settings (including the amount of zoom, so preferably max or min zoom) as the sun is approaching the horizon in the evening. Even better: also take a photo when it's half way below the horizon (preferably the ocean, but it doesn't have to be). Now you can compare the pictures and see that the sun is exactly the same size. If the setting of the sun was due to perspective it would have to get ALOT smaller, due to getting far enough away to look like it's setting. This can also be underlined with a simple CAD model, just to show the principle of how much smaller the sun would need to get to look like it's [closing in on] setting behind the horizon of a nearly perfectly smooth earth, as it is on the ocean. Add in the fact that the sun settles in different times over the entire earth, divided over every hour of the day depending on the place (seen from the time perspective of one place), and then there is no way to get away from this proof and to explain the setting of the sun other than that the Earth is round. On top of this there is many other proofs aswell, but until this day, this experiment with the camera, is for me the easiest and most convincing. :)

there's a very simple experiment - put 2 10m poles 1000km apart. Measure the length of the shadow at midday for both of them .
