Thanks for showing me how to stop the square madness! I made this for my daughter for Christmas '23 using HomeTown "Aspen Tweed" Super Bulky (6) 6.5mm. It is about 5 ft x 5ft and weighs a ton! My husband told our daughter, every time you use this, it's a hug from Mom.

July 11 finally completed the baby blanket (11 days after due date) First inconvenience; baby decided to born 3 days early. Second inconvenience, I was down with a flu? I made it 40 inches square in white yarn. After it was finished, I pass a string of thick baby chick yellow Yarn Bee through every single space on diagonal, leave some extra at the end of each row and tied two together to hang as fringe. My right hand wrist is complaining. Mission accomplished thanks to your tutorial. 💕

Hii!😊 is it okay if I just skip 4 chains at the beginning (dc and the first chains which is a space for that ch 3) and at the last dc(first row) I do not chain 1 before that dc? So I skip just two stitches between those clusters? Love the tutorial!❤🫶

Would it be possible not to chain 1 in between clusters if I want my holes smaller or is that not how it works?
@austinjalbert

It would shrink the row, the chain one in between is to keep the project a consistent size

At one point when you reached the end of the row you said to chain 4. At the end of that next row you said to chain 3. Should it be 3 or 4?
@HeartHookHome
@HeartHookHome 4 ай бұрын
This stitch is a 2 row repeat, so 1 row you will ch-4 (counts as a dc + ch1) then the 2nd row will be ch-3 (counts as a dc)...then alternate those 2 rows.

You really don't go into detail on how to "read" the chains. Like how do you count to the top chain? Perhaps I could find another video that pays a bit more attention to "reading" the work.
