Street kitten Giorgio finds a home

I found Giorgio in the exact same spot where we rescued his brothers Sal and Sonny just a few weeks earlier (see previous video). Was there still time to socialize him, or would he grow up to be a feral cat outdoors? Did we have the volunteers and resources to help him? This video highlights the challenges trap neuter return (TNR) volunteers face when trying to balance cat rescue and socialization with the bigger goal of making sure every cat in their area has been spayed and neutered. We can't do it all, but we do our best.

Many have asked how we're doing with the pandemic and spay/neuter clinics closed for health and safety reasons - most activity and travel is restricted but we are doing OK overall. There will be a lot of catchup work to do once the quarantine is lifted, and of course the cats keep on coming. We feed about 15 cats. My big concern is what happens when so many owners perish due to the virus. I imagine a lot of animals will suffer along side us.

First, sorry for my bad english. Great comment, by why "still"? World was not better in the past, it was by far worst! Famine, wars, violence, ignorance, misery was so much in the past, and animals was treat very bad too. Today is not perfect but we lived in the best world ever.

There’s truly no dialogue I love to hear from this channel than, “Now, he/she is going to his/her furever home… He/She even got a big brother/sister!” Literally, best feeling ever. You can’t change the world by saving one cat, but you can change that one cat’s world by saving it...

I rescued a feral colony that was originally 10, made up of two 3-week old babies, four 4-month-olds, and 4 adults. It was my plan to trap, neuter, release, but did not realize that finding available appointments with the local shelter for 10 cats took 7 weeks, and this was in the worst conditions of winter in 2017/2018. Three got altered right away, and they were put back into their original environment. I found a home for one of the babies, kept the other baby as mine, and it was my plan to return the others. However, winter conditions were too risky to put the 4-month-olds out in the cold, so I made a make-shift shelter in my home. Long story short, they just ended up hanging around my home, and I still take care of them. The mama of all of them was full-on feral and hated humans, and the 4-month olds were skittish and leary of humans. Over the years, the 4-month olds domesticated and are friendly and affectionate with me and my dogs. Mama feral is coming around, slowly. I can pet her without her freaking out, but she definitely glares at me for it. I named her Cougar. :) In my opinion, the key to taming them was keeping the baby, whom I named Larry. They saw his playfulness, his affection and purring, and that he was safe with me picking him up, playing with him, loving on him, etc.

Struggling with COVID-19 and a positive test. I'm 54 and have no one but my cats. They've been great but it's still terrifying. I have severe hypertension. i tamed a 8 year old feral cat this year it took me months but it is possible ! he wouldn't come within 15ft of me when i started out. now he loves his chin being scratched, and he follows me around like a dog. if anyone wants to adopt a kitten in abruzzo italy please contact me on instagram @_italian_farmhouse_ we now have 4 pregnant cats. The mothers are all extremely tame and friendly. (we couldn't neuter in time due to virus vet closure and age of cats before the virus).

Hearing that you named that one black kitten Peanut, tugged at my heart strings. We rescued a black kitten and named him Peanut. He only lived to 4 mths of age. He had FIP and we didn't know it until he showed symptoms at 4 mths of age, when he passed on over the Rainbow Bridge.

We've adopted 2 bonded pairs and just want to underline the difference it makes for socialization and contentment. They cuddle, play, and play-fight at an energy level we could never hope to meet. We got our cats from rescuers like you and we are grateful for all you've done and will do for these beautiful animals. Thanks to you and your other volunteers for continuing your work despite these sour times.

He reminds me of one of my cats. His name is flute because his meow is quite. We rescued him from my grandma's neighborhood when she passed away cause no one would be able to feed him. He also had a Buddy named Bob, who also has a new home

My foster cat turned adoptee was caught when she was 3months. It took us close to a year to get her to trust us 75-80%. She spent 9 months in a foster home, observing the foster owner and being standoffish. She went back to being scared and shy when she moved to us. Hiding under stuff and escaping away. Now she meows for food, slithers around your leg, purrs occasionally and even show her tummy. Really a great outcome.

My best friend had a black cat named Peanut and she was killed a few years ago by an aggressive neighbor cat so seeing a little black cat named Peanut just brought back all those memories of couch naps after school in the sun 🥺

Love all of your videos! I do my part in Dallas. It’s so true about the window of age. Three of my feral’s that I have been feeding every single night, since they were about 3 months old. (They’ve been trapped & fixed) All of a sudden one of them decided he wants to be my friend. The big step was can I pick him up. Woo hoo! I was able to pick him up and love on him. This is weeks of him rubbing up against me. Now to get him adopted is the hard part. Thank you for all that you do to save these sweet cats/kittens! ❣️ The kitten growling while playing was hilarious!

I'm stuck in my apartment with a mild case of COVID-19. Your videos are so relaxing. I need a background voice or two to help me be able to sleep away the middle of the day, so I can get better, and your voice, the soft music, and the topic of cute little beasties getting their pass into the luxury life are a great prescription for making it through the day.

I rescued a feral cat from a cat colony under my boyfriends mothers trailer. It took two years but now he is just as cuddly and lovey as our other two cats. There is hope for feral cats, it just takes a lot of time love and patience 💙

I found my current kitty outside, he was 3 and a half months, not socialized and extremely scared. Thankfully there was no aggression just extreme fear. Within less than 24hrs of trapping him, he warmed up to us and was so sweet. The vet said she was very surprised how kind he was for a feral cat. There were other kitties that unfortunately I wasn’t able to catch after trying for weeks. My current cat (Elijah) was the only one left. I agree though, if I want to continue helping cats I can’t keep them all. Thank you for the tips!

I have a cat translation app, and when I held my phone up to my laptop at 3:50, the translation came back as "MOMMY! MOMMY!!" Ohhhhh my heart just shattered into a million pieces 😢
