Finally had some time to get out and ride. A few bumps and bruises with hard work and slow progress. If flatland was easy, I probably wouldn't try it. The small victories are good enough for me. If you have any tips to help me get better at these tricks please drop a comment.

Every BMX video KZfaq is throwing at me, particularly the flatland stuff, is all dudes around my age, or noticeably older. And I am fucking here for it. Let's go, boys!

Thanks for being a beginner and posting a video. It' gets demoralizing watching how experts pull this stuff effortlessly. Wish I had a buddy to ride with, but flatland is a loner sport

THIS is what KZfaq is for. There are too many videos of people being fake and trying to get attention. Thanks for the video! I recently bought my first BMX since I was a kid and warming up to begin attempting this sort of stuff.

With the tailwhips, use your front brakes. I know eventually you might wanna go brakeless as seems to be the trend, but you have brakes on your bike now and they're useful for learning stuff. Brakeless flatland is advanced, you gotta work up to it. Learn the tailwhips using the brakes, then you can learn them brakeless if you want. Love watching your progress, wish I could ride with you!

I've just got back into Flat after a five or so years break, and very patchy riding before that due to back problems. Looking good there pulling stuff doesn't really matter, just fully committing is probably the hardest thing to get your head round! Fine tuning comes with time and practice, just have fun and you subconsciously improve😎

Bro, for the tailwhip... try carving the front wheel right then left, then kick... almost there

It’s easier to keep the front wheel vertical in one spot and just use the bars from forwards to backwards. Credentials - flatlander for 25 years

Im guessing your pulling them buy now but you were relying only on the kick and not using your hands and handlebars to assist the spin.

Yes I got them a lot better now using the handle bars to whip it around. Such a fun trick!

@@jasonb-co6td oh yeah! I was a Pro at them in 1988!!! 12 years old that is. I also loved doing boomerangs back then. I wouldn’t do them From the pedals though, I would jump from the back pegs. Have you ever watched Dennis McCoy pull boomerangs in the late 80’s? He would do two or three of them in a row. I felt like the boomerang went together really well after a tail whip and I learned both of them around 12 years old I can’t remember at this point which one I learned first. I know after I was doing boomerangs for six months to a year I started working on rolling boomerangs. But really, One of my favorite tricks what is the funky chicken!!! Much easier to fall out of than a hang five.

@@williamperri3437 Thats cool man! I need to get back to learning boomerangs. Funky chickens one day hopefully!
@williamperri3437
@williamperri3437 8 ай бұрын
@@jasonb-co6td funky chicken is probably the easiest front wheel rolling trick. It’s even easier if you stick your left foot on the left peg and scuff on the left side of the frame while looking backwards. Typically you got your left foot on the left peg and then your right leg is on the opposite side of the frame. Just really easy if you’re gonna fall backwards just drop your leg as opposed to jumping over the handlebars trying to learn a hand five. Hang fives are scary to me after 25 years but I funky chicken nope

If you want your footjam whip to look even better, try doing it without having to put one of your feet over the frame and then into the tire. Try it by pushing your frame with your back foot and jump over the frame and into the tire with the other one, at the same time, in one fluent motion. It definitely is MUCH harder, but it looks a lot better and feels much better. And you also don't need to have to put one of your feet over the frame every single time you want to try it. If you didn't understand what I explained, try to search for a video and you'll realize instantly what I mean. Anyways, good luck, and have fun riding man!
