well, I listen to music with only 1 earbud (because of work n stuff). I think Flatout 3 is more comparable to listening to music that is coming out of the earbuds, but you're not wearing those earbuds and have no idea what the "musicians" are saying

This game also has one 'feature' that no game I've known of has,in the music options,you can toggle off the ingame soundtrack and switch to 'My Music',which literally pulls random folders in your PC's music file and plays them during gameplay. Doesn't make Flatout 3 any less crap though.

Man I love the flatout series but not flatout 3. Flatout 2/ultimate carnage is my favorites i go for ultimate carnage on pc more cause it both supports controllers better and better looking but man 2s soundtrack is the best out of any game in my opinion
