SURPRISE Clean! Early in the morning.. reaction was Priceless!

Well this was fun! We set out early for this surprise clean.. my auntie Dawn got the keys to her new home on Friday.. we arrived Monday morning at 8am. She had no clue we were coming, when I approached the door she was in the porch putting the dog's harness on! Luckily she was looking the other way I set the cameras up, and knocked on the door. Scared the life out of her, but dad's entertainment was the icing on the cake.

Oh, be still my heart, your dad is the first person I have seen who actually trims a bush correctly, from the bottom up!!! I was very very happy to see that! I loved his elf outfit. Give the saw to him! And never cut more than a third of a tree at a time. So sorry, Ben, you can clean driveways any time, but I will do the pruning myself! So kind of you to give this gift to your aunt!

Yeah, went a bit heavy on the Bay Tree. The Lavender you ripped out near the gate might have recovered and be careful pruning Euphorbia ( 2.34 ) it releases a milky sap that will sting if you get it in your eyes. Merry Xmas/New Year to all. 🍻

I’m going to stick my neck out here! I was horrified when the beautiful hebe was cut back And the other plants too! The bay tree was so beautiful too! Right! This gardener has ranted but I wish you And your Dad and all the family A wonderful Christmas and new year!

The fatsia japonica got a hammering too... I must admit i almost switched off witnessing those plants get mutilated but i had to remind myself that many people have no interest in gardening and I hope the bay tree recovers...

I have to agree, watching these type of channels, loads just cut stuff without even considering that it was better before and you can't or should just mutilate plants to show a concrete edge. Trimming yes, but this is too much. I get that many times they do it for people that really can't look after their plants but this obviously wasn't the case. Sad.

I always wonder if these guys on these channels have any real gardening or landscaping experience because they just butcher trees and hedges. I do love the parts where they pressure wash everything, though.

This one was special! Your aunt is a lovely person! She was absolutely speechless at your showing up on her doorstep! 😂 But she was thrilled to her core and so excited with all the two of you did for her! Such a warm energy she gives off! Dad Paul slays me every time! Just when I think he's reached the pinnacle of his silliness, he tops himself and proves me wrong. I'm beginning to think he has no limits! 😂😂 What a difference! The cleaning revealed all those pretty colors, but I think the biggest (and most unexpected) improvement was in all the trimming! So much airier and more spacious! I was amazed at how overgrown it turned out to be. It hadn't looked like that much to me before you began and then wowsers! 🎉🎉Congratulations on 200K!! What a way to finish out your year!❤ I couldn't be prouder of you if I actually knew you! 🤣 Merry Christmas, Ben, to you and Sam and your lovely boys! Amazing transformation for your Auntie, have the driveway cleared and more room for vehicles. Then pressure washed to see it full of colours. The elf lent a hand,would of loved more sweet treats to keep him going. Made such a difference once it was done. Arthur is adorable as ever. Have a break over Christmas you both deserve it. Xx

I hope the neighbours didn’t mind you hacking down their shrubs. The fatsia japonica and the hebe were in the neighbours garden. I’d also also warn your dad that the euphorbia he was cutting down releases a sap, which is very poisonous. You really need to take more care on the plant side of things. Be careful!! Happy Christmas to you both all the same 😉 (I just hope we don’t have any hard frosts as that bay tree was cut back far too short).

My thoughts exactly, way too severely trimmed back. 😢 the clean up is always excellent though. I personally would be upset if they were my plants as the garden has lost its mature character.

Wow, that mud sucker does abreast job. That’s what I need today. It is scary minus 35 in BC, Canada at the moment. My water is running free but the drains are frozen so I have water backing up all over my house. I need spring!

I think if there was a border around the planted areas, maybe the dirt would be confined and not wash over the patio. I just noticed that today. There is flexible border material I think. There seems to be no end to the crazy paving drives & patios in your neck of the woods. Whether or not you like them, one things for sure, they've lasted really well over time, still as solid as when installed, especially once you've cleaned them to unveil all the coloured highlights that make you wonder about how tastes & trends have changed
