Well: 1: Colors Look, they wear bright colors for 3 reasons: Culture, rank, and intimidation. Bright colors are scientifically proven to make people get shocked or intimidated. So what better than to have an 8 foot tall, bright red shark running at you with a lightsaber? Also, it allows the enemy to be distracted, so the stealthier ones to move in. Space marine tactics. Culture is from the mixed species of the covenent. Probably from their races various flags. Rank wise, well, think about it. You're in the middle of battle, gunshot firing everywhere, explosions left and right. Your leader is dead, who do you turn to? Are you going to run around, just to look at every persons badge? Or can you look to your right and say: "oh, there's the guy with the golden fancy armour! Better go to him!" 2: vehicles Whats the scariest insect? Chances are you said a spider. And you probably are more scared of big ones than small ones. So what's more scary than a 50ft tall spider, shooting giant balls of plasma? NOTHING. As for the wraith, huge, giant, blue balls of energy being pelted at you, by a floating tank is pretty damn scary.

Actually, funnily enough, the Covenant did kind of wise up toward the end. Up until the Battle of Reach, Covenant generals wore really fancy armor, making them a nice shiny target for human snipers. After that, they changed it so all Elite uniforms looked the same except for colors (as seen in Halo 2).

the ships aren't that easy to see in space... and until you get to the officers (which are traditional not discreet for humans either) the dark colours of the minors aren't easy to see.

When I think of this, the UNSC are pretty visible inside Covenant structures/onboard Covenant ships. So, homeground advantage, I guess.

They don’t need camouflage It’s all about honour and stuff

Lets not forget humans can see the air currents blast against your body when invisible - the white outlines that detail your armour when invisible - it'd be more practical to have an ability that acts an an optical illusion that makes you look invisible when entirely visible. Like a perception filter - your mind and eyes trick you into thinking they're not there.

I dont understand this, see we humans made our things green so to be camouflaged on our very green world but it doesn't take a genius to hop on H2's High charity missions to see that there world is very purple, so to blend in, they wear colors like these, I mean green would look way out of place in a world like theirs I mean just look how Master Chief's Armour clashes so "well" with his purple surroundings on High Charity.

To be fair.. they ARE sort of using their form of camouflage, Look at the Redness of Sangheilios and the Swords of Sangheilios's Armor color. And most covenant worlds? usually blue and purple, sometimes other colors, not many overtly green ones, save maybe some parts of Sangheilios or Doisac, to my understanding. Though i admit, you'd think that when the covenant caught on to the fact most human planets are green.. they'd have modified SOME armors for natural camouflage.. And with all these 'Covenant Remnants' around, they're likely to hold onto the original color schemes of the actual covenant empire... so yeah..

That ending armor lol everything that they own is pink purple or flashy gold or some other bright color. Very camouflage indeed

They use those colors because the metal the mine is made out of the metal that comes in a purple. Whenever its mined, and they have to manufacture their ships really fast

the point of the elite general armor is that they lead hundreds of dudes into battle. Thats lore, but I guess we never saw that in game. . . Also its meant to withstand a blow from a rocket launcher again thats lore and I think that was only the case in halo ce. . .
