Lol what a coincidence. I bought flaxseeds recently due to a sale. Great combo with rice. 😆

Never thought about flax on the skin. My family drinks it for constipation and I've used it for a natural type of "gel" for current hair.

I've tried the homemade gel as a hair mask and after washing it off it feels softer and voluminous. But is it harmful? Does it really helps?

Can I pair it with apieu glycolic acid cream
@aror64807 ай бұрын
You can pair glicolic acid and retinol if you are used to retinol and no longer iritate you. Anyway, try it carefully and do it only 2 to 3 nights a week. I started doing it because she said it is OK in one of her videos and I wrote it down on my note book, but it was more than a year ago and I couldn't tell which video was.

@@aror6480 thank u dear Am 27 I just started using it's skin retinoidin cream So how many times a week shall I apply
@aror64807 ай бұрын
@Am_102 you mean the retinol? Shereene has a video called 101 retinols or something alike from about 2 years. Look it up for better info. Usually, dermatologists say about starting retinol: apply one night, and the rest two (like this for 3 weeks). If your skin feels good after this period, apply one night, rest one night (for 3 weeks). If skin feels good after this period, start applying retinol every night. When you have been using a retinol for months and no irritations happen, then you can jump to next % concentration. You can use glicolic acid with the lower concentration of retinol, but pair them once you can use retinol on a daily basis, and your skin does not react. When applying retinol, remember to avoid the sides of the nostrils down to your mouth. Moisture richly afterwards

How do you know if you have a broken skin barrier?
@aror64807 ай бұрын
Peels, looks dull, has lots of blemish, it looks bad, and it FEELS bad. For example, last week I had COVID, I live with my parents on a small apartment so I wore a mask, I had all windows open and I washed my hands repeatedly all day long. Very early on that week, my hands were peeling, red, and inflamed, and they itched no matter how much lotion I used. I decided to start using a soft gel usually used for face on my hands and put a very good ointment which it is not too tacky every time I washed. I put them both by the sink and now hands are healing. Also, I have Rosacea and I stoped during my week my skin care a bit. I did not want to be maskless on the bathroom more than necessary. Just showered and dry and got mask. At most I moisturised. Itchy imples started to flare and skin peeled at some patches.

Hi Dr, Shereene! What is your opinion on grapeseed oil?
@Maialeen6 ай бұрын
Flaxseed is so good for the body and it's a waste not eating it. Don't eat it whole, grind it. Put it in your oatmeal and wherever else you can fit it in your diet.

It lowers your estrogen giving you better skin that’s why when men take steroids it also increases their estrogen and that’s why they get acne!! Flaxseed is the richest dietary source of lignans, a type of phytoestrogen. A phytoestrogen is a plant nutrient that is somewhat similar to the female hormone estrogen. Due to this similarity, lignans may have estrogenic and/or anti-estrogenic effects in the body.

To get these benefits though I would think it needs to be ingested not used topically.
