Same with any fish for me. One time I caught a big bass and a whole bunch of people like ligit came out of nowhere and started to surround me and another time I caught a big spotted tilapia and a whole bunch of kids came a surround me. This is why I hate fishing parks and piers when a lot of people are around especially now because of covid.

Try slowing down the action of the lure

Set the hook to the side instead of upwards. It makes huge difference.
