Both defendant and plaintiff are in love with each other. The problem is that she is headstrong and controlling, believing that she is more mature. Clearly, her conduct has made him insecure and because of this, he is afraid to fully commit. He is just holding on to his present relationship as a temporary means to escape his pain but those two really need each other. JM made a mockery of his defence though. I do not think he was treated fairly or perhaps JM has realised it's not worth the effort since they might very well hook up again.

I never understand why people feel the need to go through their significant other's phones ...if you are that insecure about the relationship or if you really feel like something is going on, get your exit plan together. That takes too much energy going through somebody's phone or following them
