🌟 FLEET FRIDAY 🌟 FDNY HIGH RISE UNIT 1 - VENTILATION SUPPORT FANS

There are 2 High Rise Units in Manhattan E3 with HR1 & E39 with HR2. They are assigned in Manhattan below 125th Street for all High Rise Signals. They also are assigned to any Under Ground, Tunnels, or Subway Fires that are All Hands DWH Citywide. They also have Ventilation Support Ladders that Respond in the other Boroughs on High Rise Signals. HR1 & HR2 will Respond on 2nd Alarm High Rise Signals Citywide. High Rise Units are both cross staffed by respected Engine Companies (HR1 Engine 3, 14, 33) (HR2 Engine 39, 22, 91)
Average 60 calls a year

The red hose is also carried by the 3 stage high pressure engines in their hose beds . It can handle over 700 psi I believe . I don’t know what it is tested at. The couplings are painted white as are the 3rd stage discharges on the high pressure engines. That’s how it is easy to tell a high pressure engine on the street. It is used to feed standpipe connections on high rise buildings. I thought your viewers would like to know.

Question: Does each High Rise Unit serve a specific area? Like HRU 1 serves downtown manhattan and HRU 2 serves uptown manhattan.

What are the 6 outlets in the rear (and a few more scattered around the sides) for? They are clustered 3 and 3 on either side of the back door. Air compressor on board? Power outlets?

My guess would be outlets for an onboard generator.
