Mick and John are probably stoked they can flex their blues muscle again. That’s at the heart of their rhythm section. Even Christine channeled her blues woman in this tune. Lest we forget, Fleetwood Mac started out as the Best British Blues band in the late 60s before Buckingham Nicks.

Over the decades Fleetwood Mac have had countless line ups. Lindsay left and then rejoined, Christine left and said she'd never return, but did, Stevie left and came back... This is classic Fleetwood Mac. Nobody has their knickers in a twist because Peter Green isn't performing his own song... Stevie is right, it's a Fleetwood Mac song (covered by Carlos Santana and others...) Lindsay Buckingham is a great singer, songwriter and guitarist but the music goes on.... Buckingham had nothing to do with Black Magic Woman. It was written by Peter Green in 1968 before Lindsay even joined the band. Anyone who thinks Fleetwood Mac can't carry on without him should ask "Can they still play Albatross?".

@@nolanwinter4711 ROTFLMAO! You have no freaking idea what you’re talking about. But you’re running your fingers mad. Anybody who knows me knows I adore her but I’m also realistic and compare that to Rhiannon in the 70s. Yes she’s 70 years old she looks damn good still, and still writes a great song. She put up with Lindsey’s shit for years, a consumate consummate professional. That doesn’t mean I’m going To put on Rose colored glasses. I also remember the benefit that she and Don Henley did For the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy. For the first Few minutes she was so off and her voice so sore that she had to go I’ll stage and get some Chloraseptic. She did and sang beautifully the rest of the night. For the first soak tour And the performance at the Wiltern Theater where she finally got to do Rhiannon as a piano Ballad the way she wrote it, And in a long pregnant pause some ass Interrupted by screaming out “Stevie, I’ll never forget you!” Without missing a beat, and in a calm cold deadpan, she replied “I’ll never forget you either.” So going back to what I actually said instead of the words you tried to put in my mouth, This is a very mediocre performance for her. And if you Could ask her, She wouldn’t hesitate to acknowledge that it wasn’t her best. Finally, just let you know how terribly mistaken you were in your presumption, and hopefully to help you refrain from Having to extract your foot from your mouth again, I had the “Edge of 17” as my wake up music For a couple years. Complements mean a whole lot more When the person receiving them knows that you’re not blowing sunshine up their butt all the time. Are we done with this now?

To all the comments on Stevie Nicks not being able to sing, I beg to differ. I have seen her live 78 times and she sounds better than ever. Has her voice changed over the years? Of course it has she is over 70 years old and impresses everytime. When you see her sing Beauty and the Beast or Love is live you are amazed that that much voice can come out of that small body. Just enjoy the fact that she is still going strong and the band will play on even without Lindsay.

I'm a great fan of Lindsy's work with this band, overall he is probably my favorite songwriter in the group --- BUT I'd be among the last to say that there cannot be any FM without him. He was a replacement for multiple predecessors, not the original. This has resulted in some diversity in the set list, after many years of the same thing. The band is obviously having fun with it, and so are the people who actually went to see the show. More power to 'em -- I think it's a likable line up, and it's great to see Mike Campbell back in action, instead of left to sit around mourning Tom Petty.

Have a read of the new Rolling Stone article, they didn't even tell him he was fired in person and they won't answer his calls! Sure it's a business decision but these are people who have worked and lived together for so many years, you would think they would show him just a tiny bit of respect.

@@fayelaura5033 I initially heard that FM planned this tour a long time ago (including LB) to start i June or July 2018. Shortly before the tour, (a few months, maybe?), LB asked that they postpone the tour to start in November...but not November 2018 but NOVEMBER 2019! The other members couldn't negotiate around their other prearranged engagements and besides, how do you put 4 other band members out on the limb while you've suddenly decided on working on another project! If this is accurate (I wouldn't be surprised from previous documentation from other very valid sources involving LB and his volatile temper), then FM has every right to fire his narcissistic ass. Funny how he originally publicized his lawsuit again FM without his lawyers or the court formally charge them with his petty lawsuit. It's okay...FM can't wait for their day in court.

Re: Mindset, I've said the following: 1) The guys and gals are either in their 70's or looking at it. Whatever issues with Lindsey obviously came to a head and I think it's more to do than touring and whether he wanted to or not, because he too is touring. After 45-50 years of being so "stuck" with someone, the small things get big and you just decide "It's enough". If Stevie didn't give the okay to move on, Lindsey would still be there. Personally, I think he's as big a pain in the ass as he is a world-class talent. 2) Lindsey didn't want to explore anything outside of his era. This is why songs like these have been obsolete. You can get bored playing the same material night after night and tour after tour regardless of where you move the songs around or how large the crowds are. They band sounds fresh because the material is fresh. I'll be in Charlotte!

The weird thing is, Peter Green wrote Black Magic Woman in 1968 before Buckingham was ever part of the band and before Carlos Santana covered it in 1970. Buckingham made huge contributions to the band but never had anything to do with a lot of their back catalogue and never contributed to "Black Magic Woman."... Can Fleetwood Mac survive without him? It's different but yes they can... They did it for 10 years when he left voluntarily and I hope they keep on playing for years to come...

That's not correct. They did NOT survive after Lindsey's departure. No, they ended up being the opening for Crosby, Stills & Nash in 1994 and part of package with REO Speedwagon and Pat Benetar in 1995. And the 1995 album Time was the first Fleetwood Mac in the band's history not to chart the US Billboard 200! Mick Fleetwood ultimately disbanded Fleetwood Mac in 1996, and when he had done that, he took a job with Lindsey Buckingham who were working on a solo project at the time. ... Not exactly what one would call "surviving" ...

Darkness of the Night, that is not exactly true. While it is true that Lindsey left, that was prior to the Tango in the Night tour in the 1980s, which was very successful. It is a bit difficult to say that this was due to Lindsey leaving, considering that that he left years prior.

No one has added mystery and beauty to this song like Peter Green did. Epic and unforgettable. As long as he is not there to do it, Mike Campbell is the best guitarist to do it. His playing is really exquisite. And he plays it better than Buckingham ever did. And certainly better then Santana did with his hyped, stressed 'flamingo' version.

If memory serves me, and it does, Lindsey Buckingham & Mick Fleetwood both wanted to add "Black Magic Woman" to Fleetwood Mac sets as far back as the "Rumours" tour, but John McVie kept quashing that notion because Santana had the bigger hit on the song and it was now his song and not theirs, anymore.

@Wayne Bishop, you are obviously misinformed. Peter Green has toured through the 90's and 2000's. He has won several awards for his solo albums. He is highly respected. And he is the guitarists guitarist. The favourite of many of the most famous guitarists in the world.

Oh, and watch how a simple audience recording of Stevie's Black Magic Woman surpasses Lindseys appearance on Jimmy Kimmel. I've been also seeing a lot of converned fans for him not being able to sell 1/10 of several 1000-1500 venues on his upcoming tour whilw thriving that FM sold "only" 80-90% tickets for shows held in 20000 capacity venues.

Hey man, put the camera on Mike Campbell when he breaks into a solo. Nobody wants to watch Stevie playing tambourine when Mike's kicking ass. Oh and for all you Lindsey haters, he is a great guitar player. Mike Campbell is one of my favorite guitar slingers of all time (seriously under-rated) but don't hate on Lindsey if you've never picked up a guitar. FM in Tacoma in four hours, yah-fing-hoo. Can't wait, I'm already half drunk and seriously stoned.

I'm not quite sure what the point of it is. Lindsey can outsing Finn and outplay Campbell - at the same time. This whole situation arose because Stevie's ego can't handle having Lindsey in the band anymore, sure. And then Mick Fleetwood is such a cuckold he just agreed with her to appease her so SHE wouldn't bail, and Christine and John don't have personalities so they just went along with Mick. The whole thing is pathetic. This should have been the final hurrah, a huge final farewell tour of the 5 Rumours era members. TOTALLY different situation to 1987 when LB left the first time and they brought in two guys, at that point they were still young and had careers in front of them. It's 2018 - they'll all be dead in five or ten years. What a sad, sad way to go out. And all because of ego from $tevie and ca$h for Mi¢k.

Thought her voice was flat, but I heard about them doing this song and wanted to hear it. Doesn't matter to me how well they play it, just can't get past the no loyalty. 40 some years, yes they left and came back but always at their own discretion. In my mind this has to be the final tour go round. I saw them after rumors came out and am a fan of their p. Green and Bob Welsh stuff. They had good songs from back then and a few weird tunes as well.
