They showed up at Tuesday night Dollar jam night at the Fillmore in San Francisco in 1968. They were either just traveling through town or had been booked to play somewhere and had missed a date but they showed up unexpectedly that night and set up and played a whole set that just blew everybody away! By far one of the best shows I'd ever seen!

I had a bootleg of Fleetwood Mac. This was my favorite album out of over 500 albums. 1 side was with Peter, the best English blues guitarist, unfortunatly a short career. 2nd side without Peter. Peters side was so amazing. I have looked everywhere for similar greatness as the Peter side. I have not found a recording to match what they did on that one side. I am not saying anything negative about other recordings. The Peter side was so amazing. Parts of 2 songs, 2 entire song. 1st partial song was "Underway", side started somewhere in the middle of the song. The complete track was "Tiger", I am hear to tell you that version was so superior to any of the other versions. That version was so tight, tighter than any other version, of any of their recodings of Rock n Roll classics. 3rd song and 2nd partial was "Green Mahalesi" it playred til vinyl ran out. This side was also 33 minutes long, that's right 33 minutes. I had a turn table with adjustable speed conrol. Played at 33rpm's someting was not right so played with the speed, of coarse I timed it when I got it right. The non Peter side was excellent as well. Kirwin was fantastic leading them on that side. Better than any of there future line ups with out either of those 2 magnificent blues guitarists. The album did not survive my house burning down in the "Normal Heights" Fire in San Diego in 1984. If it had I would have uploaded it for all to enjoy. Best in an opinion along with better or not as good. History is subjective since we were not there. Please be happy with what is available. I know I am😅

We FMac fans get to not only enjoy Peter's compositions but we are blessed with the musical bond Peter had with Danny. The Then Play On LP gives us a group of songs which transferred beautifully on stage into extended jams. Whenever I need to enjoy the genuis of Peter Green I am never at a loss to find amazing songs and thanks to the Mac community there are new versions coming out in rapid fashion. @Old Crow I feel that Peter greatly appreciated Jeremy's talent as a performer in the band, especially as part of their live show. It was never just about Peter playing his music, which was mostly blues. It was also rock n roll, rock and psychedelia. Fleetwood Mac has always been a multiplayer multifaceted band. Jeremy Spencer was, and remain, an awesome slide guitarist and mimic. Peter Green saw this and appreciated it. Compare Jeremy to George Thorogood - neither went much beyond what they were best at. And that is ok, as Spencer's performance at the tribute concern in 2020 reveals.

@68’ Rumble Bee I thought it was the B string. In fact I'm sure it was.

@@mrgordons Looks like the high E broke. Around 6:50 or so into the vid you can see the strings clearly. Either way, he just shifted gears and kept playing.

Paraphrasing David Byrne: Breaking a string is as much a part of the live experience as the music is. Me: One day my paraphrasing will be as much a part of paraphrasing as paraphrasing is by other peoples paraphrasing.

So much incridible talent in one band! I often wonder how, or even if, they would have progressed, if Peter hadn't fallen so spectacularly off his trolley. But they left some amazing music for us to love forever.

All three guitar players fell off their own trolley eventually.

Jeremy had a great voice and is the only one of the 3 guitar players still alive.

Amazing to find this on here, actually saw them about ten days before this at The Lyceum in London. Howlin' Wolf was on the same London bill backed by three guys from NE of England.

The music was raw an unapologetic and it was something you could feel!
