We take a look at the Flex 24v inline circular saw. It's a 6-1/2" circular saw that has more cut depth than a 7-1/4" saw. Its inline design makes the saw belt driven, and gives it a slim profile. Has a built in dust port, but due to its motor size it's more of a speciality tool versus your goto work horse for a framing saw. Will heat up with heavy usage. Cuts well, and puts up decent numbers for a compact saw.
First of its kind, this in-line saw design provides total balance and improved visibility with a clear view on both sides of every cut. The FLEX 24V Brushless 6-½" In-Line Circular Saw rips through 3X in one pass. The built-in LED illuminates the workpiece for superior precision and accuracy. This advanced saw also features the FLEX Advantage: unmatched FLEX 24V battery power, extended runtime, and fast-charging. Protected by a 5-year warranty.
LED Light: Illuminates dark work areas
Saw Blade: 6-1/2 in, 165 mm
No-Load Speed: 5,500 RPM
Bevel Capacity: 0-47°
Arbor: 5/8 in, 16 mm
Cut Capacity at 90°: 2-9/16 in, 65 mm
Cut Capacity at 45°: 1-9/16 in, 40 mm
Tool Weight (without battery): 7.1 lbs, 3.2 kg
THE FLEX ADVANTAGE - 20% more power with 24V lithium, 25% longer runtime with THERMA-TECH heat management, up to 50% faster charging with high-power, dual fan chargers
SENSOR-FREE™BRUSHLESS MOTOR - Every FLEX 24V tool is built around an intelligent Sensor-Free brushless motor. This improves durability, efficiency and control while reducing overall tool size
WORLD'S FIRST IN-LINE CIRCULAR SAW - Provides superior balance, clear visibility on each side of the blade, and control for a more accurate cut
MAXIMUM CUTTING CAPACITY - Cuts 3x lumber in one pass (2-9/16-in. depth of cut)
EXCEPTIONAL RUNTIME - Up to 430 cuts in 2x4 lumber with a 5.0Ah battery
LED LIGHT - Illuminates dark work areas
FLEX 24V CROSS COMPATIBILITY - Compatible with all FLEX 24V batteries, chargers and tools. This kit includes 5.0Ah Lithium-Ion Battery and 160W Fast Charger
FLEX FOUNDERS LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY - Register your new FLEX tool, battery or charger within 30 days of purchase through December 31, 2021 to receive a limited lifetime warranty on your new FLEX product

@@brianbush9453 I am switching to flex and I currently have this sawand it it bad ass. I have used plenty of saws on the market and I was sceptical because 6 1/2" in my opinion are Compact but worthless in the power and depth of cut Department. Yesterday I was cutting 4"×4" in 3 passes and I deliberately forced the saw off Center to bind a dull blade and the saw kept on going

I have the Flex in line saw, when you do carpentry for a living as I do, you quickly learn that a heavier powerful cordless circular saw makes for a much more consistent cut, the weight in conjunction with the power allows you to cut through the material with less effort and better accuracy, make sure you have 2- 5AH batteries, and you'll sail all day.

This video has a video that is actually cut and is very helpful. Thank you! Regarding the advantages of the in-line saw, I think it has another major feature. It's easy to operate. You should be able to recognize it by holding the product lightly with your thumb, first finger and second finger and comparing it with Makita. Makita should be difficult to cut straight. Since the blade and grip of a general circular saw are not in-line, the operator unknowingly twists and performs complicated operations. This requires the worker to be more focused in order to cut straight, which can cause fatigue and failure to cut straight.

I pulled the trigger and bought this along with the 7-1/4. In all honesty, I prefer the Flex 7-1/4 over the Milwaukee saw. It has plenty of power and sure it may overheat once in awhile, but man did they nailed on other areas. The 7-1/4 probably has the best line of sight by far for a blade right saw, so this almost eliminates the debate between rear and top handle style as it really comes down to preference. And yes, it's heavy BUT....better balanced than the Milwaukee. That inline saw......it's literally a rear handle hybrid or something, but man that thing is a natural....and by that I mean, it feels good to cut with as you clearly see where you are cutting. Does it get hot? Yes, but still cuts like butter. Does the guard hung up? Yes, but still cuts like butter. Is there 1/64 play on the arbor? Yes......but it cuts like butter. Great saw....I recommend both. Time to retire the Milwaukee and it's new btw. Flex saws....remind me a lot of Makita and I am talking the old 18v stuff before XGT.

Good question, I immediately grabbed the flex blade to double check and it did the same thing. But I didn’t worry about it too much as it was probably less than 1mm. Not tight as other Saws I usually use but didn’t seem like it would throw it way out of center. Maybe over long course of a days work the blade could heat up and get worse but probably not that substantially

Between this saw's kit price, it's performance, and it's depth of cut, may lie the answer to why my local Lowe's doesn't appear to stock it.😕 Big box stores have a vested interest in not carrying the 'little saw' that cuts deeper than bigger, more powerful and, dare I say, more profitable saws. I've been trying to decide between this saw, and the FLEX rear handle model as they put the blade on correct side for ideal line of sight to the blade/cut. This little guy however doesn't have anything hanging over the footplate.! Meaning if I'm using it left handed, I can still see just fine, and there isn't part of the saw that's going to be caught on or be interfering with a straight edge clamp... Which incedently makes a track saw not necessary for a lot of jobs you'd otherwise need.😎🤠🤓 So, that does shed some light on why it comes right up when I search for it on Amazon and Lowe's hasn't a clue what the hell I'm talking about....

If they made this into a track saw... ooof. That'd be great. The depth cut alone!!!! Now, I am still very weary of the Flex brand due to the company that owns/makes it. Chervon has some really cool ideas with their brands, but the quality and durability are notoriously bad. See the blade arbor on the saw. Lol. I am a sucker for a gimmick though. And it's design is awesome. So maybe in a few years when it's been time tested?

This saw is just awesome in every regard, there is no other 6 1/2" circular saw on the market that will out perform it as a matter of fact it sits well with my Milwaukee 7 1/4" rear handle on performance. The only thing I don't like is that the handle feels similar to a Mikita or Festool 12" miter saw. That is subjective and I don't know why it reminds me of them.

You should reach out to flex about the under sized arbor issue. I really like this saw, but that is a non starter. I can't imagine how you could get such a basic dimension wrong. You did make sure it was the arbor, and not the blade?

@@rubenstones8684 sorry for the late update, so I am pulling out the blade now there is some slack but it is tolerance in my opinion. Now I am putting in the new blade and there is less slack. The blade I am using is a Timberline 24T thin kerf but 2+ times the kerf size of the Flex blade. I just don't know so let me pull the Diablo 7 1/4" blade from my Milwaukee sliding miter saw and see. So I think I am looking for a black can in a room void of light and the cat isn't even in the room. To sum it all up: the slack/play can't be no more than 1/64" I had to search for it. I think in order for me to give you a true measurement of the play I have to buy a feeler gauge. Could it be tighter, maybe but then would we fight to get some blades on? I made 10 cuts with the new blade nothing out of round or vibration. I am putting the old Flex blade back on and no out of round. On this inline saw I am thinking there isn't a problem with the arbor size.

could have been a fluke, but also blade could have expanded just a bit after some use as it heats up. like i mentioned it's not terrible. and like you mentioned, it's probably still within acceptable tolerance.

Great, now repeat everything that you just using the FLEX blade.. I mean, it came with a blade. Seems only logical to evaluate the supplied blade. How well does the suppied blade fit the arbor.? I mean, if the FLEX brand blade has the same number of teeth, cuts just as well and last just as long as the Diablo, I ain't gonna just grab a Diablo blade because cool looking, and red's my favorite color. I'm not picking on you. I only just found your channel today. KZfaq didn't bring your channel to me last month when I began inquiring about this saw. If this video was about a DeWalt saw kit, and the kit was supplied with a battery, charger, blade, I'd want to know how well the supplied blade worked and the supplied battery versus a bigger better battery.😎
