Flex vs Worx (24V vs 20V [FX1531 vs WX381])

Here we pit 2 similar SDS rotary hammers against each other: the the 20V Worx WX381 and the 24V Flex FX1531. Does 24V drill better than 20V? let's find out!

That 24v 5ah flex pack uses 12 18650 2.5ah cells, not 21700's :) not sure if they use 21700's in any of their packs, more powerful ones (3.5, 6, 10ah) use lipo pouches, and regular packs (2.5ah, 5ah) use 18650 cells

Huh, well there ya go! I guess the lights on the sides make up the extra width for the packs

Main point of sensorless is to be cheaper. Downside is poor low speed control, but probably not an issue for a rotohammer, except if you like to feather the trigger to start a hole.

Oh it's for sure going to be a bit cheaper, but they advertise it like it's some big improvement in technology. It just detects the back EMF doesn't it? I can't imagine that's going to be superior to Halls

@BoltahDownunder yeah, I'm surprised they're advertising it. It's known as the budget option in the RC world.

@@BoltahDownunder it is not superior for motor control, but we could maybe, but very maybe argue that it is slightly more reliable since it is one thing less to go wrong idk

Well that is of course an important design consideration! A few surface mount components might not take up much room but they are more things to break, which in an impacting tool is worth considering for sure
