How to you work out you starting point when you get to site like where your first wall goes so you can work off that and do the plans have specifications on them that tell you how much cavity you need ?

I think he means how do you know the starting points...the surveyor will leave marks out. At the start he goes to a blue painted stake with a nail on top, that was the strung line. Yes the plans say the measurements of everything.

Only duplexes and adjoining buildings usually have a party wall through the centre which is what they were figuring out at the start. On an average house you would start flicking lines for all your exterior walls first off the perimeter of the slab and then square and parallel interior walls off of those chalk lines. Exact cavity measurement isn’t usually specified, they give an overall measurement which includes brick wall, cavity and stud wall combined.

He was obviously asking where to start setting out your walls on the slab and considering the average dwelling doesn’t have a party wall straight through the middle of it and you’ve just directly quoted what was done in the video your answer is useless lol.

I usually get a PDF of the plans sent to me so I can zoom in on my phone while on the job. Makes it heaps easier to see measurements when doing set out.

Can’t buy it and install it legitimately by yourself, has to be supplied and installed by a licensed pest controller. Pretty hard to come by otherwise, they don’t sell it to people without a license.
