These are the best tutorials on KZfaq! They are quick, to the point, and very easy to follow. This worked perfectly on text in After Effects. Thank you! Is there a way to add this same effect to a group of vector shapes. I have a text logo in Illustrator that I would like to give the safe effect to. Thanks x

You need to reduce the smoothness like shown in the video, then it will flicker

@@SmertimbaGraphics I may have to check around, it's the second thing I've noticed isn't where it used to be, I know it's in the program but whenever I use the drop-down menu it doesn't have an animate button. I'll rewatch and keep trying though thank you.

Just to make sure, are you are dealing with a text layer? Because only text layers have animate button. Something like a logo does not have it.

Hey George - when i hit play, it goes through the flicker cycle once and then stops at the 1 second mark... how are you making it so that yours repeats?

It is possible, but would require a completely different approach, since logo would not have all those built in animators that text layers do.

You can apply easy ease to keyframes and change the speed graph of the animation and create additional keyframes closer to the end.

@@SmertimbaGraphics do I change the random seed speed to high at the start and low at the end? If I move the end keyframes to further, it slows the entire thing down - but I want to only slow the last 0.25 seconds down!

Create extra start and random seed keyframes like 0.25 seconds or so before the end, set random seed really high like 1000, then move 1 frame forward and set it back to low, like 30. Then move end keyframes forward to slow down the end animation.
