In the epic finale to the Maze Runner saga, Thomas leads his group of escaped Gladers on their final and most dangerous mission yet. This movie is the best, but why did Newt have to die? I LOVE HIM! He is the cutest boy in the world! It was very sad and I cried at the cinema ... and others girls did too. (BTW he is like a dog - he is Thomases best friend, I want to take him home and "he barks but doesn't bite") Sorry if something doesn't make sense. I don't know very well English because I am not a native speaker :D

That’s why they killed him off, because he’s a great character. An author’s job is to make a story interesting and gripping and that can only be done with emotions. That’s what they do, play with your emotions. I guarantee the story wouldn’t be as good without newts death

@Emma Leigh actually I think he is alive. He was probably conscious during Teresa's speech and if he believed her you'll see that he stabbed Thomas with the knife but he apologized to him just before though, if he wanted to cause damage he wouldve stabbed him hard instead of digging the knife in just enough to get Thomas's blood (the cure) onto the knife. Then when he lashed out at Thomas with the knife after that it could be because he is trying to get as much blood on the knife as possible just to be sure. Then he stabs himself. Since the knife he stabbed himself with had the cure on it, it means somehow (if this is correct) that he is still alive.

This is an actual highway that was never finished in Cape Town, South Africa. Story goes that there was a man who owned/owns a small restuarant and it was located exactly where a support beam for the highway would go. The man would not sell his property to the goverment and so all construction had to stop. A lot of comercials and films use it now. It's almost like a landmark in Cape Town now

He broke his arm when he was in flare aka cranks zone. Viruses often attacks people in fatal moment or condition (broken arm) Whilst in the book, he was unknowingly bitten by cranks at that tunnel

My guessing on second viewing of the film was in the crank tunnel because it's the first time to physically see him grabbing his arm after he gets sort of caught. But I guess the airborn aspect makes more sense.

If you read the 5th book, they say how when WICKED came for him, they actually came for his sister because she was immune but they couldn't just leave him there because they literally just killed their parents in front of them.......pretty depressing
