2. A national broadcast on June 30th 1979 made after the executions of three former Military Heads of State (General Ignatius Acheampong, Lt. General Frederick Akuffo and Lt. General Akwasi Afrifa) and five other senior military officers. Flt. Lt. Rawlings ended his speech with the words "Countrymen, either you are part of the problem or you are part of the solution".
