In many Disney attractions, if a smoke detector activates, it causes a silent alarm where orange strobes near the entrance and loading area flash. After a few minutes, the main signals activate (at 1:38 in this video.) If a second smoke detector activates, the main signals activate immediately. The sequence is only for smoke detectors - if the alarm is activated in any other way (e.g. a manual pull station), the main signals activate immediately. In all other buildings (e.g. standalone shops/restaurants, hotels, etc...), there are no orange strobes, and any activation causes the main signals to sound immediately.

Theater and other performance venue fire alarms often operate the same way. The silent alarm gives staff time to get into proper position to coordinate an orderly evacuation.

The "Plan B Evacuation Route" sign identifies routes that are used if the entire park needs to be cleared in an emergency and the main entrance isn't usable.

Yep. Disney has multiple routes depending on what is going on.

@@emilylewis5373 Yeah, I think there was incident where a family left a bag wrapped around a tree or a lamppost and a cast member saw it and (correctly) reported it to a manager who informed security. As Disney takes potential security threats seriously, they ended up evacuating the entire park as an unattended bag could mean the obvious. So that’s where these plan b routes come into play. There’s also been incidents of actual fires at the parks, again the plan b routes may have been used. I think the unattended bag incident was at Disneyland California, however.

You don’t need many instructions especially when there are emergency exit signs above emergency exit doors or an error on the sign pointing to an exit door these people are just clueless.

I survived a Flight evacuation! Right at the end of the ride before the final scene. Having been on it numerous times before, you know if something is out of the norm. When the banshee went to take its final flight, I heard 3 clicks and I said out loud “That isn’t suppose to happen.” The screen went black and we were escorted out of the theater. And given a free ride on it. I now get nervous at that part each time.

@@unknownuser7020 I didn’t ask what it meant. Have been on it enough to know the sounds and knew that was new. It was the final flight of the banshee as I said at the very end

The same thing happened to me on toy story mania at toy story land this year. Same emergency message with flashing lights. We were on the attraction during the fire, we had to do the rest of the ride with nothing working. We evacuated the building.

anyone know why disney plays disco music during an emergency like in this video when you guys go outside there is disco music playing in another video, people got stuck on its a small world because the ride lost power, and when the ride started moving again they got to the last tunnel, there was disco music playing

Anything involving fire alarms should be a clue... strobes have been part of fire alarm systems for decades.
