Binge watching your tutorials right now, they are just so great, the in game tutorials are much nicer than other flight sims I tried before, but still way too much rudimentary

I noticed one or two things, I’m a flight instructor and a lot of what you said was ok, the pare recovery for a spin is ok, I don’t know where you learned some of your terminology, you were jumping back and forth between gamer enthusiasts and student pilot. I like the way you present material confidently, however some people might see this and think it’s instructional material, which it isn’t, so just put a disclaimer saying, for gaming purposes only. Good luck

I can't even properly stall. If you add max elevator trim up then with a bit of pulling back the plane will be level even with engines off and barely losing speed.

so basically spins are not modelled in msfs?
@KJKsimmer4 жыл бұрын
I think the flight dynamics of the new 152 are not accurate enough to really spin. Sadly, this is not an A2A 172. I could not get this thing to spin, with or without power on.
@oliverek73 жыл бұрын
Triple E Circle you’re not always gonna get into a spin. Certain conditions are required for a spin, center of gravity, payload etc

This is the reason MS flight sim 2020 sucks balls, you can't do proper stall spins in the game. I tried to fly with Extra 300 in storm an did crazy turn with nose dive, but the game instantly automatically recovered the plane to straight flight. If it were simulator then the plane would have gone to unrecovarable flat spin and crashed.... or probably snapped wings even.

probably because you have assist on

Spinning like a real aircraft isn't very well modelled in the simulator at the moment. The Pitts flight model nicely demonstrates this. It's WAY off.
@oliverek74 жыл бұрын
Paul Martin well I’ve seen real GA pilots commenting on other videos of spins and stalls in this sim and they say it’s very realistic. Do you have any real world flying experience?
@nitramluap4 жыл бұрын
@@oliverek7 Yes. I've flown (regularly over the past few decades) a Piper Archer II, Cessna 172, Cessna 152, Pitts S2A, Super Decathlon, and several others types but not as regularly. I've also spent several hours in a full motion 747-400 simulator (a real one owned by an airline). The Pitts does NOT behave like a real Pitts at all. The tail draggers' flight models are not even close, particularly their ground handling. Spins, snap rolls & knife edge flying are totally off - you shouldn't need to touch the ailerons for a real spin... It makes me wonder whether their 'physics' modelling is factoring in the fuselage as a lift generating body (like X-Plane does) or whether it's only the wings & control surfaces? Most of the other flight models are a bit dodgy but the closest ones to being 'true' (that I can absolutely vouch for ) are probably the 152 & 172 - I'm sure they spent the most research on them too as those aircraft are easier to access. Having said that, this is the *best* simulation of the VMC world I've ever seen in a flight simulator and the clouds & weather effects make it the best looking IMC flight simulation too. Flight models should be easy to get right. Here's hoping that MS will fix them and third party aircraft show us what can be achieved here. It's early days.

In the sim in the most cases, the nose simply drops down and it's hard to spin. This is accurate for some of the planes but not for all.

The fight model sucks for spins and stalls (like they dont work at all like real) I first trained on a pa38 tomahawk in canada where spin training is required anyone that has spun a tomahawk knows what a REAL violent spin is like.

It looks scary in a sim, can't imagine how much more it must be in a real plane!
@principedinerezza4 жыл бұрын
It's a little scary when your new and not expecting it, I spun the first time my instructor had me do a power on stall, but they're actuality very easy to recover from in a GA aircraft. After you get over the initial jitters of flying a plane, it's not scary at all, i find stalls to be very fun actually.
@blakehorn2293 жыл бұрын
As a student pilot, can confirm, practicing stalls absolutely sucks. Scary every freaking time. My stomach just got tight thinking about practicing them with my instructor again. When the plane starts spinning you really have to keep your composure and use your head to remember the proper steps to regain control of the aircraft. power on stalls are the worst...the littlest difference in left or right aileron means the plan is going to dive to that side of the wing...if you dont regain quick enough or if you mess up what rudder pedal you press...you're now spinning the plane straight down at the ground. Nooooooo fun.
@nicolatogni49963 жыл бұрын
@@blakehorn229 oh wow, I think I'm happy with flying only on Flight Simulator 2020! 😅 Saw this yesterday, it was a test and the pilot really stayed calm enough to do the right things. Not easy! @@blakehorn229 how many hours do you have? I'm also a student pilot. If you're still scared of spins, tell your instructor that you need to practice them more or find an instructor that makes you feel comfortable and confident. My instructor and I spent 3 hours doing spins and stalls, after the first 20 minutes I was having fun and didn't want to stop. It was like being on a Rollercoaster and the tracks went wherever you wanted them to.

I don't see how it's difficult. Just fly the plane level first and then start trimming while easing the pressure on the stick at the same time. Once you have let go of the stick entirely, stop doing anything for a second to see what the plane is doing on its own and then adjust the trim to level flight. It can be a bit bumpy before you get used to letting go of the pressure at the same rate you're trimming. Don't chase the vertical speed indicator, look outside and see if the nose is going up or down relative to the horizon. Once the nose is stable, not going up or down, then finally look at the vertical speed indicator for final adjustment. That's how I do it.
