FLIGHT TRANSFER AT DOHA Airport - Connection Flight at Hamad International - December 2022

This is how a recent Transfer at Doha Airport, Hamad International, was for us. In December we were once again back at Doha Airport in Qatar. We had flown in on a Finnair flight from Copenhagen and had a Malaysia Airlines connection flight to Kuala Lumpur. In this video we show you what our Transfer was like and what you could expect when you have a Transfer at Doha Airport in Qatar.

As this was a Transfer through Doha Airport we were not required to pass through Immigration nore did we have to show any COVID-19 Test or Vaccination forms. We did however have to pass through Security (when we passed through Doha Airport earlier on in the year we did not have to).
Wiki writes about Doha Airport, "Hamad International Airport (Arabic: مطار حمد الدولي‎‎, Maṭār Ḥamad al-Duwalī) is the international airport of Doha, the capital city of Qatar. It replaced the former Doha International Airport as Qatar's principal airport.
Formerly known as New Doha International Airport (NDIA), Hamad International Airport was originally scheduled to open in 2009, but after a series of costly delays, the airport finally opened on 30 April 2014 with a ceremonial Qatar Airways flight landing from nearby Doha International."

For whoever's wondering, Qatar Duty Free at Hamad Airport will take credit cards and Riyals, but on occasion I paid in Euros and that was perfectly fine (got my change back in $, though)

Doha,for me that is one facinating and amaizing airport,i have been transfering thru him two times. First time was before just before train start operating,second time i went to my gate with airport train

Being a famous and busy transfer hub, it's no surprise that there is always a huge crowd regardless the time we land at the airport. I was told that if you receive your bag at your final destination, you are lucky. My cousin just flew home from LHR with a transit in Doha. He had a very terrible experience especially the previous sector was delayed for almost 2 hours. Together with another 16 passengers, they had only 10 minutes to rush to the next gate (MH's flight). When all the transit passengers arrived at KUL, only two passengers got to claim their baggage. The rest, all of their bags were gone! The ground staff was so calm and asked them to approach Qatar's counter for compensation. Even if they insisted to get back their bag, the chances are very slim. Not to mention, many others' bags from different destinations, previous flights still stranded at Doha with most of them have no luggage tag already. This incident kept me from transiting in Doha. Btw, great video Maxi and Maro. Hope you have a great time in Malaysia.

Thanks for watching our video and for sharing those experiences. What you describe can happen to passengers but we have always been lucky to get our luggage max the day after (two times when the luggage has not made it onboard because our flight was delayed). When transferring through Hamad International our luggage has always made it to our final connection. Crossing fingers we don't experience lost luggage in the future. Glad you liked the video. I thought that Doha airport was one of the worst! Glamorous but lots of long crowded walks. The plane landed and then taxied for another 20 minutes, passed the terminal, passed another building with visible trucks, crates etc, then we were unloaded onto buses to drive back to the terminal! It all added the best part of another hour to a 13 hour flight. I'll never TF through Doha again. Singapore Airlines is still the best.

I don't know if you can help me I need some info I will be at this airport in a week and a half and I have 9 hours lay over you know if we can go out of the airport and take a tour of the city are we need a Visa?
