Momentarily treating as if reality : Actually , there would be a plausible , and likely sucuessful way to do just that . If history could pinpoint Hitler's location at particular point in time , crash ( actually controlled flight at full speed ) the plane into the relevant building . Deliberately causing a crash of a plane in which you are riding , in furthering a goal of overwhelming national importance IS a thing I could point to a rather large crater in Shenksville , Pennsylvania .

In that universe Arado got the contract first and their Arado jet was hurried into production and hugely mass produced, in that universe there were as many Arado jets as there were BF-109s in our universe. They're playing on an old question, what if Germany built jets instead of piston engine aircraft. Also in that universe ww2 began much earlier with Germany invading france instead of poland and throwing everything west in a single front war. that too was answering a very old question. another question they answered is what if Germany attacked dunkirk using a pincers movement instead of a head on attack. in their universe Dunkirk was hit from the north and the south at the same time instead of the attack through the ardenne in our universe.

"To keep moving until the coast of France". To leave all transport in a state that will not allow the Nazis to make use of them". The casualty figures proved the BEF never fought the Nazis outside of Belgium until reaching Dunkerque. Retreating in contact with the enemy, is the most expensive, in terms of casualties. The BEF had a total force of just over 250K, on the retreat they would have expected to lose about 100K, if in contact with the enemy. However, the total lost was just over 25K, 10%, when the loss rate should have been around 45% if remaining in contact with the Nazis. And let's not forget that the French First Army delayed the Nazis at the Battle of Lille, stopping the Nazis dead, and then retreated into Dunkerque, where they held for a further 6 days, that allowed all the BEF to run away, along with around 100K Belgian troops. The newsreels always say that the troops wearing Adrian helmets are French, but most are Belgians. Commentators should know how to tell armies apart!

Random Rant; Time travel is often seen as a linear thing where "You do X in the past, it creates a paradox because if its already done then you wouldn't of had to go back in time to do it" But there's another concept of time travel where it is more complex and organic, the very act of you going back in time to do X creates a new branch of the timeline, and never creates a paradox because you doing that is your NEW timeline.

Yeah, I was afraid the ending was going to flatline, but it was actually pretty sick.
@nwnmiria2 жыл бұрын
So if the Brits were massacred and Germany had 262s in 1940 that means someone else traveled back in time; to help Hitler. This was not addressed at all so consequently TFC was a better movie. The 262 had a better range than the 109e-3 (the primary fighter over the battle of Brittan) so the RAF would not win the air war over Brittan. I imagine the writers were using 262s because they knew there were not German planes that could catch up to a jet passenger plane, but then they there in Dunkirk without addressing the other things that were wrong. It was still kind of fun though, a better ending would have been to have them exit only to find the Nazis were still in control of Germany (and by extension other places).

What I find interesting is that they didn't just climb to 38,000 feet and figure out what to do from there, or that the German jets could even catch them. A 757 cruises at 850 km/h (528 mph). Nothing in the movie's timeframe would be able to even reach that speed except when in a steep dive, which would cause great stress to the airframe. 38,000 feet is also incredibly high even for late war planes designed to go that high. Essentially, they'd be untouchable up there. They'd also burn less fuel at that altitude, but that's another matter altogether.
@bitshopsteverАй бұрын
They did note Germans didn't have jets so I agree but obviously fiction logic goes out the window. Maybe the German jets could cruise that high.

To be fair this move can only be watched if you just want something entertaining. The amount of inaccuracies and errors in this movie is laughable. Beginning by the Me262's flying in 1940, which IRL didn't fly until 1944. Then the Minegeschoß which hit the pilot shouldn't only have injured him, but basically he should've exploded into pits and pieces. Though, I found it enjoyable to watch because of the sheer hilariousness of the situation, but I would give it an F- as the faults of the movie way overshined the memes.

@@quintiax among what these other intellectuals have stated which your perception skill of 2 ass missed, due to this timeline tampering, it is quite possible the fighters still being prototypes weren’t fully equipped with 30mm and could have been using a downgraded and lighter ammunition that was meant to take down other smaller fighters, not planes the scale of which had never been seen before the 1980s
