This is awesome. Now that you're running MS2020, I'd love to see an updated version of this video. I'll definitely have a full cockpit at my place one day. Thanks for sharing.

You could save some time dropping the prepared shortcut into your startup folder. That's what I do and I don't have to use a mouse.

This is an amazing flight Deck, you are so funny....pretty simple...What would this cost me from FDS? 100K? I have to see how much money I would have left over after the divorce, when I kick her car out of the garage.

Hi, I run my monitors at 4K resolution so in my setup it wouldn't work on one computer. You could run them on one computer, but you'd be forced to turn down the graphic settings from 4K.

Hi, With Xplane, networking is already included within the program... No need for any outside program like Wideview.

Excellent setup. I am truly amazed. How do you manage to keep the external view synced over 3 separate monitors? I understood that you are running 3 separate Prepar3d instances on each PC + one instance on the PC in the back (behind monitors). What is your PC setup allowing to get tremendous number of FPS? And finally what is your garage dimensions? It looks you managed to install everything pretty need and still keep quite comfortable room for office and the weather planning/instructor station. Could you provide more details on that? Keep on great job. Thanks a lot.

Hi, The monitors are kept in sync via WideView, here is the link to the software: www.wideview.it/wideview.htm Three external view computers are 7700K's @ 4.6GHz with Nvidia 1080TI graphic boards. Just a two car garage, more than likely 20'x20'.

thank you so much, such an awesome and informative video. how much is the whole simulator more less, without the computers and the monitors? will US$50,000 be enough you think? thanks
@swannsim4658
@swannsim4658 7 жыл бұрын
Hi, The price tag is more than that, what made it manageable for me was the exchange rate between the US and Canada. I was able to get a lot more for my money, on the downside you have customs tax. All in all, I've spent over 100K on this setup, but that includes everything. An additional cost that some may not realize exists is providing electric for everything, as well as cooling. I had to bring in an electrician to run dedicated power lines just for the sim. Now you may not have to do this, but it's something that needs to be considered. I also had to have a split A/C unit installed to control the heat and that meant county permits and an A/C guy for the install. Just remember to look outside the flight deck at other potential costs to get this off the ground. Hope this helps.

SwannSim thanks so much for the info. the price is steep. i thought 50k would be enough. where do you think there is the largest cost? by looking at their website a lot of items are around 1000-3000. even the cockpit shell is only like 3000. would you know the highest priced components? thank you

Hello Sir, I just wondered how much this entire system (entire cockpit hardwares, computers and software, etc…) would actually cost to you to put them together to work? However, where can we contact the manufacturer or their local US sale rep? I live in SoCal. Do they have a store or showroom in that region? I will appreciate for your information and input. Thank you!

Hi, Seeing how you're in the U.S., you'll get a break on the exchange rate between the U.S. and Canada. The cockpit can be purchased at Flightdeck Solutions (quality equipment and first rate tech support), the price depends on what you have in mind as far as options. I'm sure Pete or Steve will be able to help you out in that regard, here is there link. flightdecksolutions.com/

@@swannsim4658 Thank you so much for this information because I have found a few companies that making these cockpits, but non of them are located in N. America, one is in Spain, and the other is in New Zealand. I’m looking forward to acquiring one of these Boeing or AirBus cockpits for human factor/CRM researches, as well as, for academia system or instrument trainings.

This is fantastic! Have you thought about making the process easier? At least throw the programs you need to run into the Startup folder (run command 'shell:startup') so they start automatically?
@swannsim4658
@swannsim4658 7 жыл бұрын
Hi, Eventually, I'll move all the computer power switches to the pedestal. That will power everything up from one location, as far as the startup procedure... Because Prepar3D takes so long to run, I get intermediate issues with the network if I run everything at once. I don't get out much, I'm on O2 so every bit of walking I do helps. 8-)
