Watching the reveal today hearing them say it's a more close range gun and seeing how animals react to the round makes me feel like they kinda missed the mark with the hornet to soon to tell but sure it'll get buff eventually if needed.i hope

On EW’s live stream they said that there will be no more “common” fur variations. I believe that’s why it said red brown for the whitetail deer instead of common

I wonder if they'll add a duck species or two to this map after the waterfowl rework. I know they said on stream that this wasn't meant to be Rougarou Bayou 2.0, but it would be a shame not to at least have one duck species on this map eventually.

The 22 hornet is sadly ridiculously underpowered in game. Class 1 to 2 was a GIANT mistake. It should be class 1 to 3. The fact that it can't ethnically take lynx and bobcat when that is the bread and butter of this round is a travesty

I believe TK and Jaxxy talked about the gators and said if they dive and and die, they aren’t retrievable. Similar to how a gator will sink when it dies in real life is how they described it. So all the more reason to better place your shots

they should change “fur type” to “coloring” or “color pattern” that makes more sense for all animal types, fur, feathers, scales…

Hey Guys, does anybody noticed that the bushes and trees in the Hirschfelden map do not make you hidden. That makes almost impossible to hunt in there now, and it's my favorite map.

They definitely nerfed the HELL out of the .22 Hornet. All of those Raccoons should have never moved after the first round. If you can ethically take raccoons in real life with a .22lr then the same should go for a video game.

I cant get outta medved. Been on it for weeks. Finally worked my herds up and i’m gettn some good big animal spawns now. Just got a new pb reindeer and a new pb brown bear. Got a mythical lynx that was chasing a female lynx in circles. Never seen that before. Been playin this game off and on for years and i still see new stuff.

When it comes to gators irl the best way to shoot them is in the head there is a small quarter size soft to hit the brain and in irl you can get closer to make the shot easier. The way you normally hear it done is with either a item called a bang stick or a .22 from a boat.

So the PC version was called the “7mm Regent Magnum” it was very simple, just wood stock and normal barrel. The empress is engraved and much fancier looking 😁

Hey Flinter, thanks as always for the entertainment and showing us round the new map . The hogs are definitely not just the same as the feral pigs, they actually look very realistic imo. Im quite excited to play the new map . There will no doubt be a few early glitches but tbh the developers tend to try and sort things quick which I like . I must say I love that they have went all in all the animal movements , the way the bear was running was perfect, I’m positive that’s slight different than on the other ramps with them . I’m hoping the gators disappearing is just a small glitch which can be sorted , would hate to have gators on the map but you can’t kill them in the water . Irl there’s a spot on the top of the gators head and just back a wee bit that you have to hit to kill. They are very tough to shoot irl . You have to be pretty much perfect with shot placement. Most people rope gators before killing them irl hunts but I can’t see them bringing the ability to rope them into the game.

I had no idea the 7mm was console exclusive! It's my main bison and elk rifle when I play on Xbox haha Edit: also, when it comes to gator hunting, the best place to put a brain shot IRL is on a roundish spot near the back of the head, about the size of a quarter. It's a little more vulnerable than the rest of the hide and allows for a shot to penetrate clean into the head. Obviously, you can't really hit that angle on this game, but I'm glad that eye shots work just fine lol

@@siei3i37 It's an industry tbh. It's only illegal where they got over hunted / crowded out like Everglades. Black bears are legal species wise but in Mississippi they are protected but I get why they added them. Teddy Bears literally got the name from a presidential bear hunt in MS. He pardoned the bear so toy maker named Teddy Bears after Roosevelt.

@@siei3i37 That's why it was a basic answer. Definitely not judging anything about the question. I just added the bear stuff because some ppl in this comment section have said it was illegal for bears so I just added in why I thought it was still added in to this map in particular. Gators still need tags, though. Only nuisance gators or ones that have attacked get shot without proper control. Even then most are choosing to wrangle them then relocate them or put them on a gator farm.

Animals actually do ride on top of gators. Mostly turtles but birds, squirrels, and yes even raccoons do it. I imagine that mount idea came from the popular picture of the raccoon on top of the gator but growing up around gators you see a lot of strange things albeit I’ve never personally witness the raccoon I have seen the others in the bayou

i would usually shoot a gator right behind the end of its smile which will hit it in a vertebrae and kill it immediately.

Also wild hogs and feral pigs are two separate species one of the easiest differences to notice (irl) is that the fur of a wild hog is much stiffer Puma vs mountain lion is just different names for the same species

22 Hornet, 40 grain bullet 2500+ FPS, 30 grain bullet 3000+ FPS should get more than a single lung on a racoon. That is one of the things that infuriates me about this game.

Finn Aagaard wrote much about the .22H he had when in Kenya, he sold it to a farmer friend who took many a Zebra with it. One day he neckshot a Buffalo cow, then things went quite fiery,he managed brain it after a few long seconds,never again he did that .

The first alligator you shot when it made double hunting pressure was because the gaters will cause hunting pressure to other gaters and other animals like hogs and deer

22 hornet would kill a raccoon instantly. It would blow it up anywhere you shoot it. It’s the same diameter as a .223 at .224 in. It’s only 0.5 in shorter then a .223.

A .22 hornet is a fairly wicked round it’s slightly less powerful than a .223 and is more than capable of taking whitetail and pigs

So Gators they can hold their breath for quite a long time underwater and when you want to shoot them is there's a spot right in the middle of their eyes and it's really soft and that's where you shoot them it's the best kill spot
